*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

Is it just me or is Survival ******* hard???

I've just spent ages getting myself tooled up nicely, relatively healthy and found the antivirals.

Got to a DZ hideout only to find I didn't have any "Division tech" so couldn't fashion a flare gun - went to the extraction zone anyway and there was a load of gear where I assume someone had dies, including the flare gun. (where the hell do you get Division tech from anyway??)

Shot the flare gun, my screen went "fuzzy" (like interference) for a few seconds and the next thing I know there is a "hunter" stood over my rotting corpse!?!?!

I swear I never saw him coming and it took about 2 shots to kill me!!!

little tip for finding div tech, there is almost always some near any safehouse in the DZ, check alleys around it or rooftops etc if accessible
otherwise as others said, contaminated areas and some landmarks - theres 1 on the top floor of the sports store NE of the dz02 extract

it seems hard at first but look for tips etc on YT and you will soon find it easy

Anyone know a solution for the problem where everything turns black when you're in you inventory?

It's the camera clipping an object/player/boo ai.

They fixed it in 1.6

Glad they fixed that, that was annoying.

Had some good hours in DZ tonight, was solo from the start to the end exploring more of the DZ and looking for things and taking down mobs/bosses by myself, avoided everyone, didn't get shot by anyone, helped one player fighting some enemies and left again.

One guy even used my chopper to extract his gear, didn't steal.

Sneaked up a guy airlifting his gear out in the last few seconds and got my stuff out too, when I saw the message bubble about stealing the airlift, I did think about it for like a second or two, but am not a noob like that. I don't think he saw me once.

Was itching myself to the top of the DZ and level 30 with the LBS and it was a little too much to handle, so I retreated as fast as I can while taking medikits and my skills to keep me alive.

Had some insane moments fighting against two groups of enemies at once from both directions, had to spam my grenades one after a other to keep myself alive.

Got a question, do you think it's worth spending 7706 DZ cash on a new gun that is same as I have now but does a extra 650+ damage?

Survival is all about map knowledge and it comes the more you play it.

I can go from spawn to extraction with 6 caches in roughly 25 minutes, quickest was 17 minutes. Because I know where to go, I am always in front of other people.

PVP I think it was 25 minutes as a minimum.

Once you know the map + divtech its a lot easier, I struggled at the start

woops almost 5am again.....

Last stand is too addictive but I need to stop playing until either something changes in it in the PTS or it goes live. I don't want it to go stale which I am sure it wont. I swear I would be rank 40 by now if it wasn't for all the deltas :D lol! Ah well.

Learnt the importance of PVE players tonight in Last Stand. Go around clearing the landmarks and NPC's till the kills count as points multiplier appears - then continue doing the same but it adds 10 to the teams score for capping each kill.

Also, an efficient healing dude can get well over 150-200k points in a round if his team wins ;) I was playing with a healer build tonight for a change and its super fun, just not my playstyle

Rank 35 out of 40 now and don't think the vanity is going to get much better tbh unless rank 40 is a complete set of something really cool.

Updated list here of vanity so far: https://imgur.com/a/MLF9n

Edit: One more thing......if they don't change something with skill power In last stand some "1.3 builds" will start reappearing again.

I was running a he/exotic build with 4800 fa and the rest in stamina, health everywhere aside from holster(reload speed), ead and skill haste where possible also. Was super strong and I could survive 10-15 man kill streaks due to nimble holster etc.

However, I decided to put two of the stamina pieces to electronics, and run smart cover damage res mods to run smart cover.

Result - more vulnerable out of cover but crazy strong in cover. Not invincible of course but made me think of 1.3 and the builds we used to make.

Not sure what to make of that....

Is there anything else I should be doing to gear? I've not touched the DZ since everywhere I look I'm hearing not to bother until fully geared with the right set alpha bridge 4 piece with barrets chest and some yellow gloves etc etc.

Not strictly true. I wouldn't say there is one gear set to rule the dz. But like I keep saying the dz is about being cautious of everyone, watching your back and picking your fights. You don't need ab and barrels for that, in fact I've ditched my barrels at the moment and I'm starting to think it's overrated.

I currently use the banshee build in the DZ purely for the 20% extra loot and the ability to not loose funds or XP when you get killed.

only thing that drops is keys and gear so the care side of things is less if i get killed by a group of 4 when im on my own

Good to know, now I just need to figure out what to do

yeah i ran banshee for a long time and levelled up to 99 and a load of creds pretty quick. but switching out the gear set im having no problem maintaining XP and creds.

Were you using the LB chest in that build, Gamble? Also, is EAD still effective? Cheers.

I am yeah.

EAD is still very effective for pve as well as last stand due to the fact the armour gets increased to 70%. I know some people were replacing stamina + health mods and going +ead from purple mods.

For normal DZ pvp, ead isn't as important anymore due to most people sitting around 32% armour now.

3 different sets lol pve, pvp dz and Las stand pvp :) we need more characters!!

Don’t think I will ever play it then, wish they would open the dz to pve.

PVE has an importance place in Last Stand.

Killing NPC's gives shade tech which is used to activate fortification type equipment for your home base.

In addition, there are two multipliers on the map that cost 2k shade tech each and appear several times during the match. One of these is double points for caps, the other is kills count as cap points which applies to NPC's as well.

So for a PVE guy, getting these things and then being able to run about killing NPCs giving points going towards your teams winning score is a very good thing.

I did that for two rounds last night as i got fed up geting shot with historian *******s chucking seeker mines with no skill - and we won as I managed to get 3.5 - 4k points just on NPC kills.

DZ will never be PVE as it goes against what they built up this game on.

Love or hate Marco, his video is getting a lot of support even the Devs say they like the vid*.

He makes some good points.

(*although they don't agree with all of it, some of it is bigger game issues etc)

Yeah, have to agree with everything the guy said in the video.

Why can they get PVE so right (ignoring the elites/bosses) but PVP so wrong? If PVP and players had the same amount of defence/hp as it is in PVE, I would honestly love the game and PVP.

Personally I can't ever see them getting things right without:

a. Separating PvE and PvP in terms of stats, gear and skills.

b. Introducing a class concept that has a direct impact on the three different stats and restricts talents and skills within those classes, and maybe even has unique gear.

Until they do, players will always find a way to make something work in a way that wasn't intended or they'll end up butchering PvE whilst fixing PvP, or vice versa. I appreciate that they have an internal PvP modifier for certain things but if they end up having that for everything (e.g. to nerf seeker mines in PvP) then they may as well just separate PvE and PvP. I think it would give them far more freedom and flexibility.

Do I think they'll do that? Hell no. Why? DZ, LS and the PvP Survival (all PvPvE zones) are Massive's babies and they'll not want to admit defeat.

BTW - our OCUK guy prjwebb won today some prizes on Hamish stream - CONGRATZ :)
Cant wait to see them in pics ;)
