*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

I've been using a full HE build for PVP and PVE since 1.5 first hit. Its been very effective, possibly more so than my previous AB build. The only downside with it being that it took a long time to put it together. The build can be seen here -

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=30365506#post30365506

It has changed a bit since then. Toughness is at 499k, Armour @ 55.3% and EAD 56.50%. I'm also using some prosperous knee pads instead.

your build is the one i used to make mine.. pretty much same gear but toughness is more around 460k, dont think my EAD got that high either

edit - just checked my EAD is 51.50% and 54.52% armour

Public Test Server - Build #3 Main Changes

PTS 3 is in the works and will be deployed in the days to come. A complete Patch Note will be published when all changes are made, but until then, we thought it would be interesting to share some of the learnings from PTS 2 with you.

Some AMAZING changes coming. Good riddance historian and seeker mine stagger!

Just lucked-out and got an LVOA-C and an M4 from some caches I bought, but I can't quite determine which one I should use (if any). With 4942 Firearms and using Skulls Gloves which give an additional 16% damage the stats are as follows -

LVOA (180k) -
+19% EAD, 20.8k damage, Self Preserved, Destructive*, Fierce. I rolled off the only unusable talent for Destructive

LW M4 (177k) -
+23% EAD, 20.5k damage, Brutal, Deadly*, Self Preserved. Deadly was rolled in favour of a talent I couldn't use.

LVOA (167k )(Currently used) -
+23% EAD, 19.2k damage, Destructive, Brutal, Responsive.

Seems odd that they both rolled Self Preserved. Would either of them be worth replacing my current LVOA with? Cheers:)

I would reroll deadly on the second one into destructive and use that
unless your upclose most of the time then your current one may be slightly better

Also carry a Blue Sealed Cache and laugh in their faces if they kill you ;) :D

I was running with a couple of guys who went rogue on this one poor chap at an extraction. All he had was two blue caches. I had terrible guilt for days for when I think about the poor guy lol. I'm a bit of a softie I think. I don't like going rogue on individuals and much prefer an equal match of players. It really grinds when a group of four attack lone players.

Ah ganking solo players isn't nice at all. :(

1v1 - fair game :D

Agreed, I much prefer the role of a 'Rogue Hunter' rather than an asshat who kills individual players if in a group :D

I usually remark on how brave and what amazing kit they must have if it takes a group of four to take on one person, IE me lol. I did have three have a go at me the other night and I ended up killing two while the other escaped.

Not too sure about the nerf to seekers and turrets. As a balanced solo PVE'er I use both on all of my builds (recall I don't use heal but rely a lot on the damage the turrets and seekers put out to contribute to healing through the use of a Relentless backpack). I haven't played much PTS as Last Stand doesn't interest me and I would rather grind for gear on the Live game in the limited time I have each day.

What I have seen and read though, so long as the change works in PVE ( and particularly Last Stand) it's going to be implemented.

I recognise it must be difficult to balance a game with essentially four different modes (solo/group PVE/PVP) so I'll watch with interest.

Cheers,

I wouldn't worry too much about the builds you like to spec into to be honest as the changes are being made to prevent crazy burst damage from skills like explosion plus max bleed whilst being staggered and not able to heal - in PVP specifically.

For PVE, that damage, yes it will be reduced but that damage reduction will be transferred into the rate and level of bleed that ticks off and because the NPC's don't heal themselves unless there is a healer - they will die just as quick.

In regards to survivability, the medkits having a lower cooldown as well as having nimble being so beneficial or even steadfast will have a big impact on solo PVE which will be nice.

I think the changes will benefit PVP massively, but also help with PVE so we shall see :) I will be running my normal tests on this PTS. Solo CM missions etc including last stand as I spent a lot of time in it for this iteration so I will notice differences pretty quick I think

Thanks Gamble, I've been meaning to try a 1.6 CM, probably Hudson Refugee as this is the one where the seekers and turret have a big impact for me, in stopping the axe-rushers and defending the balcony area at the end (never tried Warrengate as I just don't like the mission in general, and I prefer Cleaners to Rikers as opponents).

Good points regarding Nimble and the med kits...I really notice the lack of Nimble on some of my other builds.

Cheers,

Shooting a cleaners tank and watching them explode still makes me laugh every time I do it despite having killed hundreds and hundreds of the buggers :)

Same, killed many thousands, still never gets old. Even more entertaining since 1.4 where there is a chance they run towards you before their tank explodes :D

My favourite NPC will always be the big flamers, love making those explode :)

using a controller too, should be banned!! :p

nice vid though.. better than me even when i am using weapons

Thanks lol, been using the 360 controller for so long I'm used to it. Have no idea what some keys on the keyboard this games uses :D

1906hrs in this game so far with a controller

BTW - our OCUK guy prjwebb won today some prizes on Hamish stream - CONGRATZ :)
Cant wait to see them in pics ;)

Missed this post, congrats prjwebb :D

Wasn't that the badges, cup and hat?, would love to buy these things if they sold them.

No they don't die just as quick its over twice as long in the 2nd patch and over x3 longer now. In PTS2 they cut DPS from Seekers almost in half and in PTS3 they have just nerfed seekers again lowering the DPS even more. I went from over 130k DPS from seekers in patch 1.5 to under 75k in 2nd PTS patch and now in PTS3 the DPS has dropped even further below 75k. Skill build DPS has been worse then cut in half over what we have in 1.5. Plus cooldowns are now so long its no fun to play half the time the DPS weapon builds kill the targets before we even get our 2nd skill off. Its not fun sitting there watching the rest of the team do all the work.

I have just run a benchmark after enabling Game Mode in the new build of Windows 10 and I am getting an additional average 4fps. It went up from 55.6 to 59.9. It is something anyway.

That's the stupid Xbox app in w10 right? That thing seemed to be souly responsible for my TD full screen bug crashes. Uninstalled it and not had a crash since.

Love it when the bodies fly through the air... Weeeeeee! :D

If that was the case then the meta from 1.5 and 1.6 PTS so far would have been the other way around. No one used skill builds properly in 1.5 due to how crap they are, but funnily enough, everyone uses them in 1.6 at the moment.

In 1.5 - the diminishing returns on skill power was around 250k but even at that point and pushing beyond it the skill cooldowns were crap, and the skill strength was crap as well.

In 1.6, the diminishing returns point is 450k, but we now have the option to roll additional skill haste onto gear so that the skills are quick, and powerful. 3s heals? 4s seekers? 5s smart cover? Doing that in 1.5 would have been almost impossible.

If you want a powerful skill build, you need to properly spec into it.

But my comment was actually towards Fate as he plays solo so doesnt need to worry about DPS-ers facetanking whilst he uses his skills.

What was your build by the way that you felt was lackluster in 1.6?
