Latest notes look promising, so glad to see the reload changed back to live.

I'll wait to see what they do with the Historian in PTS3, but I'll be pretty annoyed if they make it useless again. Whats this? Lots of people using a certain weapon? Why aren't they using the 0.01% drop rate Banana Gun that makes an enemy fall over once every 10mins? Better insta-change the popular gun :D

It wont be useless, it will actually be stronger than it is now in terms of damage output as you will need to have a lot of firearms - so more bullet damage with less explosion damage compared to the opposite.

But you will be squishier :D

“No one used skill builds properly in 1.5 due to how crap they are, but funnily enough, everyone uses them in 1.6 at the moment.”
The only reason people are using them in 1.6 is to test the changes out not because they are the current meta and I don’t see many using skills after testing if they stay this bad. 1.6 has lowered the DPS from skills by a large amount.

“In 1.5 - the diminishing returns on skill power was around 250k but even at that point and pushing beyond it the skill cooldowns were crap, and the skill strength was crap as well.

In 1.6, the diminishing returns point is 450k, but we now have the option to roll additional skill haste onto gear so that the skills are quick, and powerful. 3s heals? 4s seekers? 5s smart cover? Doing that in 1.5 would have been almost impossible.”
That’s wrong on both counts. I went from 124k ish DPS from seekers in 1.5 down to 74k DPS from seekers in 1.6 Those cooldowns are impossible both in 1.5 and 1.6 and 1.6 has far slower cooldowns then 1.5.

“If you want a powerful skill build, you need to properly spec into it.

But my comment was actually towards Fate as he plays solo so doesnt need to worry about DPS-ers facetanking whilst he uses his skills.

What was your build by the way that you felt was lackluster in 1.6?”
But I am properly speced into a powerful skill build as I run 516k skill power with haste.

In 1.5 I am around 516k skill power, 5 seconds cooldown on stickys, 5 second cooldown on seekers. In 1.6 my skill power drops to around 400k due to the changes in the set item and even with extra haste seeker cooldown is twice as long, sticky is x4 longer cooldown and the new week 3 patch is going to make that worse. It takes around twice as long to kill enemy’s and after the next patch that will be 3 to 4 times longer.

Hmm, well I experienced more damage and less cooldowns between 1.5 and 1.6 but I had to modify the 1.6 build a fair amount to get additional skill power and haste. I was able to get a 5s cooldown on seekers on my tacticians build - i think that was about 7 seconds without the tacticians buff.

But tbh, I never run skill builds myself. After 1.3 I lost interest in them and just wanted to shoot stuff so I just compared my one and only skill build from 1.5, saw what was happening in last Stand with all the skill power stuff and went from there with my advice. a lot of the comparisons I made showed an improvement in 1.6 on skills but then again, my 1.5 skill build was chucked together.

Diminishing returns though - its in the patch notes as 450k i believe.

“Hmm, well I experienced more damage”
I would have thought with the fast resetting of tacticians buff so it never gets to build up to 30% and the longer cooldowns you would now drop half as many seekers and half as many seeker hits is a large drop in DPS. It looks to me like you would have been a near constant 5 seconds cooldown in 1.5 but with tacticians now resetting before build up and new longer cooldowns you are at 10seconds or slower from week 3 patch. A 50% cut in skill use.

One of the big nerfs was tacticians in 1.5 maintained a DPS boost and 5second cooldown across many skills. Now in 1.6 tacticians no longer keeps a string of cooldowns fast or keeps the damage boost for long.

EDIT: tacticians buff no longer lowers your cool down from 7 to 5 as when skill goes on cooldown you lose the skill bonus so lose the cooldown bonus.

Yup, I hope that stays the same tbh as I hit 470k with TA+Talented buff :D

Along with unlocking 'Intense' on my Liberator (and Telented being in the 3rd slot) and the Historian having all 3 unlocked it's quite the build ;)

It wont stay the same unless they change it again as you will lose the none stop boost from TA we had in 1.5. Every time you use a skill the TA boost resets meaning it rarely gets chance to build up to 30% anymore and you can no longer use a batch of skills in a row at 30%.

I think Radeon85OCUK is currently in the TD twitch game with the devs..

e: yeah he is

Quite enjoyed that, never got to play with Hamish before so that was fun.

Hopefully I get to be on the opposing team next time so I can shoot him :D

Interesting note on the cause of the delta errors on the PTS3 patch list, so it wasn't really a capacity one, just buggy servers. The servers have been very good for the last 2 days.

Played Last Stand for the first time tonight and it was actually pretty fun! I'm not sure of the longevity factor but at least it's another option. It's good to see that Massive are still listening to the community too.

After my two all nighters and countless hours played the first week of Last Stand - on my first game tonight It just felt so much better!

Last Stand as it is right now, is an amazing thing, much much better. Yes there are still turrets and seeker mines but they are nowhere near what they were before unless that person has properly specd into electronics.

So much fun!!!

GG massive on these changes so far, It is now feeling more polished and closer to what we may see. Happy!

Well they just made skill builds unplayable :(

124k DPS from Seekers in 1.5 now down to 16.6k DPS! That's just unplayable. Do they have any idea what balance is!
