The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

No spoilers please. I want to learn the story myself. As for bugs, it is something you expect with Beth games.

In fact any game of this scale. You really think they can put the hours in to test absolutely every combination available? Within 24hours of release the chances are that more hours will have been played on Skyrim than Beth could play themselves in a year...

With the sheer number of possibilities it is realised there are bugs, but most people who buy a Beth game realise this rather than moaning. If you have an issue with it and would prefer to wait a year that Beth invested in, then just wait a year, get it for less and the modding community will have fixed all those bugs you're moaning about...

Had to be done, the silliness of the AI discussion above has just served to remind me of why I loved morrowind & oblivion so much :)

Think I'll be a lizard this time, in fact I might have to fire Oblivion up tomorrow for a reminisce hehe.

I just can't wait to see all the amazing mods people create I must have spent hundreds of hours playing around with mods in Oblivion.

Yeah, I loaded Oblivion back up over the last couple of days (got a bit sidetracked by BF3), and realised I still haven't completed the main quest xD

Mostly because I only got the game over Summer, have poured over 100 hours into it already though xD

If you ever complete the main quest in a TES game, you are not worthy of playing these games :D

J/K ... I mean ...... See that fire over there? JUMP IN IT AND BURN!!!

What would you do in my position, keep the preorder with Simplygames(no map), or cancel and get it somewhere where i will get the map? (i might actually pick it up form store if needed)

Also, if the second option where would be the best place to get it from now?

Dependson how much you really want the map. For a few quid more, I'd say its worth a gamble.

You're not the only one. I've played Oblivion so many hours and have been sidetracked with the side quests from the Guilds and brotherhood!

I should get back on for a good few hours of hack 'n' slash to get back in the flow :D

Haha, me neither.
The number of hours I've sunk into "preparing to play" that game, and I hardly did any of the main quest... :p

At least this time I'm going to stick to vanilla until I've finished it!

When I bought it I got most of the 'expansion' packs..

Whilst having not completed the main quest, I'm Grey Fox, Head of Mages Guild, Head of Dark Brotherhood, Arena champion, Pilgrim of the niney thing, Head of the Fighters Guild. Have something like 262k at the moment, with all houses and all fully decorated.. Full Daedric, Glass and Umbra xD Most of which has been enchanted from Oblivion Stones...
It's not like I haven't done a hell of a lot, just never bothered with the main quest xD

Cancel from Simplygames, order from the rainforest.

Delivery by release date with rainforest prime delivery.

The main quest in TES is there for people who only want to play for 20 hours, complete the game, and then feel like they are done with it and move onto the next game :p

I do the complete opposite, i do the entire main quest without any side quests and then do them all after the main quest

No idea if my pre-order from GAME (presume this is allowed to be mentioned - if not apologies Mods), comes with map, but I really hope so :) To be honest, if it didn't I'd still buy it from GAME as I'm looking forward to my first midnight camp out :)

Also, I was considering this until I found out that in Oblivion, it closed all the Oblivion gates, locking out some quite nice features.

I'd also say though, that I believe plenty of the side quests can be still done, having completed the main quest. I think for Skyrim I may do the main quest first, just to see what the story line is. Even if I then start a new save game and play through differently
