The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

It may be hard but the dev team want to make it a great product and they will.

You don't get sarcasm do you?
it's not "hard" and Bethesda have never actually bothered to do it since oblivion every game has had the same god awful console ui, and thankfully within a week of the mod tools coming out someone fixes it, so if it took that long for someone who's new to the tool kit to do it it's laughable the devs haven't.

Every city and town is bound to some particular resources meaning if you burn their mill or mine, you affect their economy and they'll be forced to buy flour or mineral somewhere else and when you'll want to buy these resources here again it will be more expensive. (good thing for evil characters)

I'm not sure how in-depth this could go, but I wonder if having your own mill or mine is possible. NPCs then start to buy/sell from you etc.

I really want to get my hands on this.

Doubtful, that would imply some sort of passive shop which i can't imagine would work very well.

What i imagine will happen though is you'll get quests to clear the towns mine of Goblins and maybe get a city wide discount :p
Though i can't imagine why you'd be wanting to buy Flour...

Aye you're probably bang on with that Evilsod. They will probably just shape quests around the fact that they can be destroyed and that will be the end of it.

Just so long as you don't have to go round half the world doing minor quests for the Mage Guild before they let you create your own damn spells :p

Arcane University pre-req quests were so annoying. Especially the Leyawiin one where the mercs could slaughter you without trying at that level.

X3 has spoiled us in this regard :p

tbh even with no levels etc X3:tc is an amazing rpg game for the sheer scale it lets you grow too.

Damnit if i'm the ruler of the mage guild i want the ability to declare war on the fighters guild or have all argonions killed on sight in a xenophobic rage.

Oh dear :( These three in particular don't sound good.

-it appears that there are no birthsigns (???)

-you can't create spells. D:<

-75% of the quests are dynamic. even the rewards and the quest giver are randomized

... looks like the modders have there work cut out for them. Doens't look i'm preordering it, sounds like they've dumbed it down about as much as they possibly could.

Wonder if I will need to upgrade for this? All sounds good at the moment. Doesn't sound umbed down, just streamlined.

No, when you remove most of the games features its called dumbing down. Removing Mysticism would be streamlining, removing self made spells is dumbing down.

Streamlining
To improve the appearance or efficiency of; modernize.

However in the case of most devs nowadays it's to improve efficiency for console games while Derp i mean dumbing it down for pc gamers.

Exactly :p

There really wasn't any need to remove Mysticism, it doesn't make anything more efficient... but then the same could be said for Axe, Blunt, Short Blade, Long Blade, Heavy/Medium/Light Armour for Oblivion.

They just seem to be limiting specialisation more and more everytime.

I am not exactly thrilled to hear that the old Gamebryo engine is still around in however minute an amount (despite all the talk about a new engine) and that things are still looking consoley.

So, I imagine it's going to run like crap, patronise me, have all the detail cut out, and not look that good especially a year on when I finally upgrade so I can play it at more than 15fps because they still won't use occlusion culling.

Sounds like the mistakes of Oblivion all over again. It'll still sell in huge amounts though.
