The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Eh? Triggers and RBs? Give me a break.

My excitement level for this is 0. And to think Morrowind/Daggerfall were great RPGs, now we have this using the ES name.

I am really looking forward to this

so much that i watch the 2nd trailer at least once on a daily basis

in fact i am off to watch it again right now :o

Seriously can't wait for this. The trailer was the most impressive I've seen in a while (not graphically, but more of a "hell yeah!" kind of thing). From the gameplay preview, it sounds great. But you can never tell until you have your hands on the game.

Considering I like Oblivion, this looks pretty awesome. Love the new info coming out. I think people see Morrowind with rose tinted glasses tbh, whilst it is good, its not super amazing.

Why does anyone bother getting hyped reading a PC Gamer preview/review? They always read like someone is stood over them waiting to fire them if they so much as think of mentioning something that might be bad.

First it goes on about how broken the Oblivion levelling system was. How if you chose skills you used you'd quickly level up and wind up against things you couldn't handle and if you chose skills you didn't you'd have ultimate control over your level and things got tedious. Then its praising how the system is back in a similar fashion (you don' choose anything, you get to be a master of all trades... yay) and then it states you level up TWICE as fast as in oblivion as a good thing?

Oh and funnily enough, no mention of the removal of attribute points or birthsigns... what a surprise there. Or the lack of custom spellmaking. Funny how those things just slipped there mind...

lol, couldn't be worse than Morrowind's "combat system". Morrowind is still my favourite though :p

Morrowind doesn't have a combat system! It's just slash in mid-air until i die because the other character kills me quickly. The only thing that seems to have an effect is an axe

It's an RPG, not a hack'n'slash. Complaining about this is as absurd as complaining that Baldur's Gate doesn't allow combo moves. Your character's skill with a weapon is almost entirely a function of your stats, not your l33t finger-mashing skills. As it should be in an RPG. If you can't hit anything then your weapon skill (or luck) isn't high enough.
