The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I'm still loving the look of it, but tbh, based on the gameplay you could have told me that was an Oblivion mod and i probably would have believed you.

Combat certainly seems very similar to Oblivion, even the animations look the same.

It's not going to dampen my enthusiasm though, i'm still really looking forward to it:)

Looks brilliant.

Considering the size that the game is going to be and the large open world, i think the graphics look excellent

I am REALLY looking forward to this game.

+1

This is going to be amazing.

There will be a serious gaming session commencing when I own this game :p

Maybe it's time for some hardware upgrades...

ffs I hate it when RPGs have a single piece of overall armour rather than individual pieces with their own stats. Just instantly kills half the point of an rpg which is the loot.

ugh it's the same voices as oblivion. you could hear the guards voice when one character was attacking the dragon, and then when anyone got hit it was the samey voice as before. that was an issue i found with oblivion was that the voices were all done by about 4 people. hope there is a bit more diversity with this one

You forgot the best part of Oblivions voices.

Beggar: "Spare a coin please" *in an old, weak voice"
*ask about Rumours*
Beggar: "They say the Count is a creature of the night" *in a completely different tone but clearly the same voice actor*

Er - beggars putting on a wheedling voice to beg, far different to their real voice, is common in real life.

What I found with that 'bug' was that you'd get the wheedling voice asking for money, then a totally differenct characters' voice giving you the rumour.

Occasionally, it'd even be the wrong gender

Having watched the gameplay footage, am I the only person that thinks the horse riding animation looks like garbage?

It looks like he's riding a fat donkey. That's a bit 'special'.

^

Yep, noticed that too. Always annoys me how 99% of games in which you can ride a horse, the horse ends up being a big clumpy oaf of a thing with no grace. As it is at the moment, it looks absolute garbage.

Horses should be slender, muscular and have lots of movement about them, rather than a very flat gallop animation that just very loosely resembles a horses legs.

Age of Conan got it right:

as did Mount & Blade:
