The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I am not much into the pick pocketing, but if you can not steal an equipped weapon, perhaps you can add a "better" weapon to his inventory thus forcing him to unequip the Sword?

Good idea, I never thought of that. Will give it a try in a minute.

It should be possible, I'm pretty sure I've sold on 2 of these at least, they were no match for my dual daedric maces (although I admit they do look good).

Are you sure its the dragonbane? It doesn't appear to re spawn in the spot where you get it from. They can be improved using quicksilver ingots and reach the same level as the daedric swords, but they also do up to an extra 40 damage to dragons. I just like the look of samuri swords xD

EDIT: managed to pickpocket the sword and its called a 'Blades sword', its improved using steel ingots instead of quicksilver but I was able to improve it to something like 125, so still pretty good. Looks very similar to the dragonbane as well, might rename it when I enchant it :p

Delphine has one on the weapon racks in her secret underground chamber.

Thanks Antar, I always forget to use them as I prefer exploring alone. I should make use of them though.

They are really handy in the early parts of the game when you need gold, as it can double your loot carrying capacity. But I found that in the dungeon and cave locations they just get in the way, and especially when you have a dog.. and you end up getting stuck in doorways and passages. So now I tend to stick to the spectral companions only and leave the dog at home. Plus at higher levels nothing is much of an issue, so no backup needed.

The dog is a good companion though as he has outlasted many human companions in heavy fights.

Fairly sure yeah, unless there's another sword that looks like a katana. I recall considering dual wielding them but the drop in stats wasn't worth it, the extra damage wasn't a factor for me since I've been one shotting dragons for quite a while now.

I'll have a rummage through my house next time I'm on just incase I kept hold of one, it is certainly possible I'm misremembering as well though.

The dogs are incredibly annoying, they have that one bark soundbite continually looping. It wouldn't be so bad if it was every couple of minutes but it's non-stop. I killed mine accidentally and didn't reload as I was sick of it.

In saying that, a lot of the NPCs have just one sound bite which continually loops. Why did no one think to put in a timer between repeats.

Haven't seen any mention of this, but then again the thread is nearly 350 pages long...but anyone else experienced a dragon picking them up and carrying them off - its instant death, but I was awe struck at first - and not something I expected.

I had quicksaved a split second before it happened, so was able to watch it again and again - but then had to go back about 5 mins to an auto-save as I couldn't get out of the way quick enough each time the quicksave reloaded.

So anyone else seen this 'fun' death?!

The soundbytes are annoying and stupid yes. Ever used the alchemy station in Arcadia's shop? Seriously she loops the same few lines over and over and over and its INCREDIBLY annoying.

The ones you get when you complete the Brotherhood questline are so ridiculous. We're talking a secretive organisation whose movements should not be known by every bloody guard from Riften to Markath! First guard I walked past after completing the questline comments on how 'they' say I'm a member of the dark brotherhood. Second guard I walked past
comments on how 'they' say the Brotherhood has just moved into the Dawnstar Sanctuary.
Do the brotherhood announce these things on twitter or something?!

There is a Daedric artifact that is shaped like a Katana in the game

The Ebony Blade obtained during the Whispering Door quest

heh, try going into the Foreswarn main camp
after you release them from prison (if you did)
, every dude in the camp says the same line to you exactly.. and nothing else

!

I have been picked up and thrown a few times, but no more than that.

Haha that was annoying, I know exactly where you mean!

"The Reach will be ours again!"

Great video tutorial I just found on enchanting weapons, armour and how to use soul gems. I already had some basic knowledge of this stuff but this has helped me understand it a bit better as I want to get into enchanting. Might be helpful to some others here too.

I eventually found my companion mage, Marcurio. Didn't have to use the console. He eventually just turned up again in the same pub in Riften.

He's not the same though. He talks big & tough like before but now he does nothing in a fight. Just hangs back & gets knocked down a lot. I tried giving him some cool magic weapons but he's still just a big jessie. It's like he's suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome :D

I've made him wear a silly helmet now as punishment.

I'm extremely disappointed that I haven't seen this yet as I was sold this game on the pretence that dragons picked up mammoths. I even witnessed some dragon on mammoth action the other day but, alas, there was no swooping and picking up of the mammoth. In fact, the mammoth somehow managed to kill the dragon.

I did see an ancient dragon come swooping at me today though but I nailed him with an arrow so he crash landed instead leaving a pretty cool furrow in the ground.

I hate the Dragons crash landing, seems so obviously scripted and fake. They just fly around only to find somewhere to crash. Far better would be that when they are badly wounded they retreat to their lair, then you can climb up the mountain and kill the wounded dragon there.

I've been playing for 85 hours or thereabouts, and it was the first time I've been picked up and carried away. I was on a cliff edge half way up the southerly ridge that makes up the edge of the playable area, near Riften, I'd fired a few arrows into the dragon, and he'd gone round behind me and swooped down the ridge towards me.

As he hit me, the game cut to a 'death scene', as he carried me off the edge of the cliff. It gave a cool insight into what it would be like to be able to fly over the Skyrim terrain. Anyway it was all fairly short, as he dropped me, but it was insta-death, and I only fell for a few seconds before my quicksave reloaded. Due to my quicksave being just a second before he hit me, it was possible to watch it again and again - till I got bored!

Awesome stuff though. Clearly not something that happens often it seems.

That sounds amazing. Not seen that myself in my 80+ hours.

Would love to see a video of it though.

Just completed the Dark Brotherhood Questline. Epic!
