The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Looks like it http://www.directsong.com/

Is a good soundtrack though any one playing the gane will know that. 52 tracks in total and the 4th CD has 'skyrim atmospheres'.

I ordered mine a week after the game came out and it only just arrived. Though I think they were waiting for stock to come in for the composer to sign in bulk. You may not have to wait as long.

As an example, I ordered mine Friday morning (coincidence with discussion about it appearing in this thread) and before close of business (US time) I received a reply to say it has been shipped.

Yeah I'd prefer to see heads flying in mid-combat as well. Perhaps one for suggestion on Bethsoft's forums?

Well Im hoping some modding guru will sort it out because the Creation Kit (AFAIK) is being released end Jan! But yea, combat is still too clean and wussy-like in Skyrim. I guess they chose that route to avoid an 18 rating on the game? Real pity though because its a bit silly when you have these huge swords the size of a Boeing 747 wing and theres no troll legs and heads flying about in bits...in real time!

My quest list has finally been reduced to a handful of unimportant miscellaneous ones, the remainder of the main quest, and am currently a member of stormcloaks doing the 3rd of their main quests. But I haven't got any leads yet for the much talked about Blackreach that people here have mentioned. Nor do I have any journal quests to do with the dark brotherhood. So far, all the major quests have just come to me as I've been playing except these ones so far. Any tips for getting involved with the DB and BR or will they arise as I continue the stormcloaks quests or the main quest?

Blackreach comes along during the main quest. The Dark Brotherhood requires you to do a quest called "Innocence Lost" that starts from a rumour you get from innkeeps right at the start of the game. It's a misc quest listed as "Talk to Aventus Aretino" or something like that.

Ah, thanks.

Regarding the Dark Brotherhood,
I did "Innocence Lost" ages and ages ago. Killed Grelod the Kind, the boy returned to Honorhall Orphanage and Aventus Aretino rewarded me with a family heirloom. That's all I've had for the Dark Brotherhood. I think I sold the heirloom, could that be something I need to retrieve by doing an additem in the console for more Dark Brotherhood quests to become available?

Nope, that should be it. A case of "don't call us, we'll call you" ;) I didn't sell the heirloom but afaik it has no bearing on the quest. Have you slept since doing the Q?

I slept last night to sleep a cell sentence off. Apart from that, can't remember. I don't think so since I've never seen a use for it. I've done tons of waiting though if I want to go from night time to day or vice versa.

I wanted to avoid Blackreach for a while but the game somehow dragged me down there anyway! It's amazing but flippin' huge!

No friggin' way am I wasting hours looking for Crimson Nirnroot down there!

Also, I changed companion again.

I've married Mjoll the Lioness and have her as a companion, she's awesome - got her kitted out in some freshly smithed/enchanted armour and also got her a nice fiery battleaxe.... :D

Ah, now I've activated the dark brotherhood.
I received that mysterious note ages ago ( black hand print with 'we know' on it, but didn't realise I had to sleep for 24 hours in riften to be kidnapped by astrid of the dark brotherhood.
I've no idea how I was meant to know I had to do that apart from the wiki mentioning it.

What are people's playtimes like now? I've just hit 100 hours and I'm playing less actively now, but still have a million things to do ingame still.

260 hours

Just started the stormcloak questline and have a few odd jobs to remove from my misc quests. Also want to get all the shout words and get to level 80 so probably looking at 300 hours total.

**** me, I'm only up to this point and I'm level 52. Not gonna finish this game until April probably :D

That's the same point i'm up to atm and have been shamed into putting more time into it, moreso being a level 54. I've got my Misc list down to 3 from 20-odd but the main list is still 15. But hey, that's what RPGs are for, exploring and getting yourself lost adventuring, killing all those who stand in your way and saving the world, lovin' it :)

I already did that 3 weeks ago and thought it was quite easy, a decent headset/soundcard makes it far easier than finding Nirnroot in Oblivion. Collecting gets you about the map (WhirlWind Sprint is ideal for this with Amulet of Talos to reduce shout times) but could have done with more enemies and unique items to make it more interesting. Bar that it was a fine adventure.

Completed 150 hours as of yesterday. Wow, what I could have done with that time. No idea how much of the game I've completed as a whole because there is no stat for that. Plus we have the DLCs coming (old news) sometime. Probably be £8-12 each but I'd happily pay it because I don't want this to end!

Can't wait for the dlc! Also pleased to see this:
For all of its successes, the one thing Skyrim doesn't have is other players. Is there a chance we'll ever see a multiplayer title, or even an MMO, from Howard and his company? "You can never say never to anything like that," he admitted, "but it's not what our focus is. This type of game is where our hearts are, what we get excited about, and that's what we want to focus on. We don't want to lose that focus and we never want to sacrifice anything in the singleplayer game just to have it be multiplayer."

So many games go downhill when they start messing about adding multiplayer.

Loving the Daedric quests. They've been far more fun than anything else in the game so far. You also get some pretty tasty loot off the back of them as wall. The ring of Namira (spelling) has a nice kick to it if you're a character who specialises in hitting things.

Does anybody know how many there are? They seem to turn up in fairly obsure locations and I get the feeling it would be very easy to miss them.

Not only that but other players are usually/mostly muppets. It's one of the things that turned me off of SWTOR after seeing people play it, and immediately being able to tell the difference between PC and NPC not by anything above their head, but because they act like prancing ponies off the leash.

Only problem is I'm trying not to be a **** in the game, and the Daedra more or less force you to be if you want to do their quest lines (*cough* Malog Bal *cough*) or you just walk away from them doing/achieving nothing either good or bad.

There's a book on Daedra that lists them all, I don't know how many exactly / offhand but seems like each is present in the game and there's an achievement I think for having collected either 15 or 20 daedric artifacts (I forget how many exactly but it's one of those two numbers I'm sure).

I have played about 150 hours and done a whole lot with my 'good' character. I have not done many daedric quests, thieves guild, dark brotherhood or the civil war.

I am thinking of starting a new character, bit of a naughty trouble maker and doing all of the main quests I have not yet done.
