The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Oh no tried that, I was there for about 10 minutes and it didn't work so I loaded up again, killed the **** and made sure he fell on his back!

I had it with a certain creature type - draugr - in a dungeon for no (logical) reason, others could be looted just fine, e.g. spiders. I saved the game, then reloaded it, and they magically became lootable again. Saved me rekilling a bunch.

Was playing last night, and fast travelled to Ivarstead to see the hottie known as Fastrid or something. The moment I got there, I was attacked by two Ancient Dwagons. <insert benny hill music as kainzy darts into cottages to repeatedly heal up>

What should I be measuring my progress on then......?
On how many times you look at your watch to see it's 2am when you thought it was still dinner time.

Haven't had the game installed since i built the new machine in December but unless a patch has changed things levels don't really mean a whole lot as you get most of the goodies pretty early on.

Htf are you lot leveling so fast? My Sword/Shield warrior is at 51 now and things have been hugely slow since Lv49. Atm I am working on random skills (doublehand weaps) but even that is rather slow to raise.

It slows down hugely after level 50. You can level up some individual skills quite fast if you've been concentrating on one handed but get ready to do a lot of skill leveling before you go do a full level up.

Skills that are very quick to level if they've been unused include sneak, lockpick and the magics.

Lockpick? Not really. It levels steadily as you play but never particularly fast and the later levels will be extremely slow. Pickpocket on the other hand levels stupidly fast.

I think once it got to the point where I was using random skills in order to try and progress I don't think I'd bother continuing with the character. Would be far more satisfying to start a fresh character and focus on a different playstyle. Forcing myself to use Two-Handed/Archery/Destruction after using One-Handed for so long and perking it up properly would be a drag.

Its worth getting the
skeleton key
if you're trying to level lockpicking faster.

Personally I managed to level it throughout the course of the game and had almost got it to 100 by the time I started the thieves guild. I never left a chest locked :o:D.

Is it me or are these rings and necklaces of lockpicking utterly useless? I've had no more success wearing 45% increased lockpicking apparel than without them.
That doesn't mean I haven't had success with master skill locks, just that the apparel doesn't seem to make it easier.

I don't really get what they're supposed to do either. All I can think of is they make the whole 'unlock' zone bigger by that percentage which would be nice for Master locks.

The patch didn't fix the broken Companion quest for me so I've just gone back to my Lvl 38 save, bit miffed as I was Lvl 52 with lots of nice things  Ah well, at least I can change my character a bit this time & I know what not to spec in!

At least it's fixed the performance issues in a lot of the towns.

But the downside is the game has now crashed for the first time in 115 hours of play.
