The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

My GTX580 runs out of VRAM in modded Skyrim at 2560x1440. :(

I'll have to resort to using optimised or lower resolution textures.

The game used up to 2GB VRAM on my 6950, not sure how much it actually requires to stop the stuttering, though.

Catalyst version 12.3 just downloaded. Still hasn't fixed the pixellation problem for me. Rolling back to 12.1. Sigh..:(
really? was it the 8.95.5 driver? its fixed my graphical problems with the 12.x series completely. did you install over or uninstall the previous driver?

havent had any kill cams yet either but im glad its not all the time as it would just get annoying.

thinking about using console to respec all my heavy armour points to light armour, but feels too much like cheating! what do you guys think? lol im lvl 58 and just want to change things up a bit!

I've used between 1.5-1.7gb at 1920+4xmsaa.

Makes me glad I bought a 2gb 560Ti, as the higher res textures are well worth it.

Hmm, no. It's installed the 8.950.0.0 driver. Must admit, I didn't strip the old one off before I pulled the new one down. It is version 12.3 though, would have thought it would just overwrite it. Will try a strip off and re-install later.
Ta.

Its just a game dude, have fun with it. I use the console endlessly. Its part of the fun of playing it on PC. Its not like youre trying to cheat on an online MP game or something :D

Seeing as I got a 680 I can finally give Skyrim the settings it deserves and started playing.

Looks absolutely stunning at max everything with the High Res texture pack and some ini tweaks.

Really starting to get into it, could not get into Oblivion at all but this I can see myself playing :)

The sound is absolutely EPIC on my Xonar STX also. This game makes full use of what you can throw at it!

No, its just your own fun your spoiling. Using the console depends what you use it for. If you don't wanna role a new char, changing perks/skills when you're a high level is borderline but if you use it constantly then it won't be long till you're bored.

yeah dont want to roll a new character, ive been waering light armor lately, even with 0 skill in it to keep lvling up as allot of my skills are 100, so respecing light armour when its only at 50 odd will actually make the game harder cos i wont have heavy armor as a safety net! can also put some points into destruction which i have also been trying to lvl, but making the game boring because im rubbish with destruction so trying to grind and run to lvl it up.

I had a few friends saying the game was "boring" and "too easy" I found out they were using console commands through out.

Yeah, You wonder why its boring, You've taken the challenge away!

You start a new game. Grinding your unused skills at level 60+ is a terrible idea.

Agreed. Theres no point continuing if you're trying to grind new skill lines just for the sake of levelling. Most skills need perk investments to be any good so you may as well either continue as normal or roll a new character.

Its just not the same trying to use magic to level Destruction at lvl50 as it is using it from lvl1 as a proper mage type.
