The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

damnit yeh i just respeced and just didnt feel right. think ill put my character back how she was and maybe make a new character when dlc hits. im pretty burnt out now as done pretty much everything there is to do other than a few random quests, so not much to do if i cant lvl up any more!

Gave the Skyrim high-res official texture pack go. Not sure I have noticed much difference yet though.

Also, there is a known issue - if AA is enabled on Skyrim when using the catalyst drivers, I get artifacting. I've forced AA and AF through the driver settings instead, which seems to avoid the artifacting.

None of my other games get this artifacting and I think I topped at 69c yesterday before Skyrim crashed. I don't think it's temperature related though, as I think my card is good for at least 90c and the throttle probably kicks in about 100c.

Kind regards,

David

The pixellated garbage is driver related (12.2+) and applies to AMD cards only.

The official Hi-Res pack is largely a waste of time. You're better off modding the areas that impact your perception the most.

sleep and rest

Hi All
just noticed a bit of a bug today,I cant sleep or wait anywhere in skyrim not even my own home and inns getting these massages
you cant wait at this location
you cant sleep at this location
like I said I just noticed it today
any idea's
thanks

Load some previous saves and test it out. This might help you work out what caused this bug.

It's usually something to do with the Dark Brotherhood starter quest or having a high bounty in a hold.

Larry, start going postal on guards. Pay fine, go to jail, get out, try then...

Probably got some sort of bounty/NPC chasing you as a bug it's cached into your game play and not sorted it's self out. Going to jail, will remove any previous instances of the above.

Thanks

This game keeps surprising me. 250 hours in and thought I’d seen most things but found a new place, couple of bandits, one-shotted them, fair enough. Then walked into their “trap” the most pathetic trap I’ve seen, whereby a few rocks fall about ten feet ahead of me and roll harmlessly by. Another few steps and phase two of the “trap” kicks in, larger rocks including one big boulder fall ahead of me, I actually had to casually sidestep out of the way this time. As I’m shaking my head as the sheer pitifulness of their “trap”, an Imperial Courier comes running up the road and ploughs straight into one of the now motionless rocks and snots himself onto the floor. Hah! That cheered me right up, I went over to see if he was ok, he was dazed but soon got to his feet. He announced: “The Imperial Legion is always looking for strong, capable warriors” and sprinted off straight into the big boulder. This time our hero seemed to have knocked himself out. I went over to check but our strong, capable warrior was dead! Had some loot too. Hilarious, this game is brilliant.

And "the opening rp sequence" is not introductory is it? It just sits at the start, and introduces the story. But it's not an intro. K.

I should have watched the intro before buying it, i suppose. i never think ahead. Silly.

What exactly were you expecting from the game

They always have a long semi-tutorial style intro to introduce you to the basics and point out your role in things (an insignificant spec who slowly becomes a hero).

save the game after the "intro" and before you create your character, then you wont have to watch it again as if you want a new character just load that save up :D

You don't have to. The game autosaves it before you create your character, hence the slot with a player name 'Prisoner'.
