It automatically does it but its not an autosave, it creates a hard save for that time only. Just checked my saves, I have 3 autosave, 1 quicksave, the backups for each and a hard save for Prisoner at 5min 22s. Check your save files. Save 1 should be Prisoner.

You still have to watch the execution bit obviously and the whole 'reaching the keep with the Imperial or Stormcloak' and escape sections.
 
So what are "the" graphics mods for this game?

Rocking an i5 2500k @ 4.5g's, 16gb RAM, ATI 6950 2048mb. I want it to look nice but be playable. Sometimes these mods are nice for screenshots but little else.
 
Guys,

for those who don't know NVIDIA has a new driver (beta), allegedly increasing performance by up to 21% in Skyrim.

Sounds pretty sweet. About to try it in a mo.... :)
 
Always nice coming across random areas you've not seen before. Came across a smugglers cave north of the Thalmor Embassy with some nice loot and further along the coast, a Lighthouse with some pretty nice loot + a permanent 10% buff to healing spells which you would only know about if you read the families journals.

Also, kind of funny when you go into Azura's Star to flush the guy out and soul trap him into another Black Soul Gem :p
 
I'm going to admit to some confusion with the game, regarding factions.

I've joined the Companions, and i'm the harbinger or what have you.
Does that mean I cannot join The Stormcloaks? I hear people complaining about Stormcloaks when i'm in Whiterun so I'd guess so?

Also, I want J'zargo as a companion, but i guess i need to become a member of the College. Can I do that, as well as be a Companion?
 
The only choice you ever have to make is Imperial Legion or Stormcloaks. You can join every other faction in the game on the same save. It's pretty nonsensical that a Companion can also be Arch Mage but that's how it is.

To get J'zargo you only need to a do a couple of Mage quests then help him with his Flame Cloak experiment.

Your choice will be the legion vs the stormcloaks. Other than tht choice you can join everything else.
 
Ha, watching this Titanic thing, it was bugging me how I recognised an actor's voice, then realised it is Wes Johnson, he voices various character in Oblivion/Skyrim (Sheogorath, Lachance, Titus Mede etc)

I think I'm about done with Skyrim now after hitting the 100+ hours mark. I did start another character but I'm struggling to stay motivated to play him. Perhaps I need to try a completely different type of character. I think because I do some stealth with my main, a dark-brotherhood asassin isn't keeping me interested.

What's Conjuration/Alteration like to play?
 
Just started playing last week, and even as a massive fan of Oblivion and Fallout etc I wasnt too impressed with the introduction to this one, I actually didn't bother loading it up for a few days because I was so underwhelmed. Needless to say, I fired it up again and am now completely hooked! I did get ambushed by a troll though - jumped off my horse to fight him but when I killed him I turned around just as a saber tooth thing killed my horse :( god dommit!
 
Yeah i lost my horse. Kinda annoying, but there you go.

Im really impressed with load speeds to be honest. For such a "big world", you really dont have to sit and stare at load screens and when you do, they last seconds. Guess they took a leaf outta the WoW book for dynamic world loading.
 
Can anyone kill morokei in just a few minutes on Master difficulty?

Anything containing physical enemies is too hard though without my shield sister Aela tagging along.
 
Aye, his AI is awful. All the Dragon Priests are like that. The dumb combat and bad enemy AI is the one thing that I really dislike about this game. Good use of abilities in the vid though.

Also, using a joypad on the PC? :o

Using a 360 controller for Skyrim yes. Its a lot better.

Its not really an AI issue, all the spell casters are the same, they constantly barrage you with spells, so just use the Atronach stone and resist magic and pwn them.

Breton makes it unbelievably easier.
