Ok so i recently got Skyrim and so far im a bit underwhelmed. Could someone give me some pointers?

Im playing as a mage got the college of magic and was made arch mage in around 30 minutes. Are there other colleges of magic around or is that it?

None of the cities seem to be very big, is there anywhere huge that I can explore?

Any general mods that are advised?

Don't base your game experience on that quest. It is notoriously one of the weaker parts of the game, but otherwise it is a fantastic. I finished the game after 170 hours at the start of the year, and I've just loaded it up again to try and hit the 200 mark hour this time :D

I have just noticed something. One of knight online songs/music is in skyrim! I dont know the track name. but its the same! Last time i played knight online was about 2 years ago.

Got a silly problem...

Just did a complete re-install of Windows and Skyrim. I can't stop the game using my gamepad instead of keyboard/mouse. I can't find any option that tells the game what control method to use. It's probably something obvious but I can't seem to work it out :o

Thanks...

About 8 hours into my second play through. really fighting the urge to be a sneaky archer again as much as I love that play style. Going to go as a mage this time, so have gone straight to the College of Winterhold rather than speak to the Greybeards.

Annoying that my current favourite game is the only one that stutters badly with my GTX670 :(

Well, yeah. Hardly the best solution though! I would like to avoid having to reach around the back of my PC every time I switch games :)

Had a similar issue. You simply need to restart the game, and use keyboard to skip the intro videos. Then it will recognise you are using a peice of bacon.

I'm about 16 hours into my second play through, this time as a mage. I went exploring and ending up getting the transcripe the lexicon quest. I haven't even spoken to the greybeards yet. I haven't broken anything by doing so have I?

Any tips for good spells/combos etc to use as a mage? What about armour? Light?

No shouldnt have broken anything...I didnt get around to speaking to the Greybeards for ages!

I was done with skyrim in february after playing it intensively for 3 months. It's still installed but I have no interest to play it any more. Still the new add on looks good for people still playing.
