The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

For the past week I've stuffed Skyrim full of mods and very happy with the results i have now a steady 40-60fps with about 50 mods. Im hitting 2800mb GPU RAM usage according to MSI AB with Texture Combiner and all the optionals, full AF and AA. Im using Sharpshooter ENB cos its the first one i saw, any reccomendations?
Could not get Deadly Dragons to work at all, CTD on startup, maybe cos i have none of the DLC?

I havent played this game for about six months and i am looking at getting back into it, i can see that the OP hasnt been updated for 9 months.

I have the spec in my sig below so i am looking at putting some mods to make the game look really beautiful.

Has anyone got a list of essential graphic and texture mods that i should be installing with Nexus?

Go through STEP. It really is an excellent guide in PDF format which lists mods to use and the order to install them in. It also tells you the fps hit for each mod, and has step-by-atep instructions for each mod. It is also completely customizable so you can choose which ones you want and which you don't.

Thanks, I dont suppose you have a link to this PDF do you?

I was having a nightmare trying to get any ENB to work but after extensive research you cant have MSI AB OSD overlay on at the same time, had to search the depths of the net to find this solution, just a heads up

aye, I exit it usually when i'm playing/recording and instead set up my fan speed with inspector.

If I run it, sometimes it won't start and sometimes it will be the shadows glitch out like buggery. Pretty much the same as trying to use it with a modded GTAIV

Well i only had it to cap 60fps on rivatuner but now im all ENB'd up it barely reaches 60 anyway :)

Bit OT but anyone know how to ger Radeonpro to work with Skyrim? Custom Launching from NMM (SKSE Loader)

Interesting ill have a look into that later then thanks. Any links for me or they on Nexus? Ive spent a full week modding, i hope to actually play tonight :D

The biggest benefit is the performance difference, ENB pretty much halves your FPS. Where as SweetFX + Dynavision you are going to lose a max of 5% FPS. Below ENB (SuperbENB) screenshots I was getting just above 40FPS - SweetFX + Dynavision there is never a drop below 60FPS.

SweetFX is here:
http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/sweetfx_shader_suite_download.html
My settings (Copy and replace in SweetFX_Settings.txt):
/*-----------------------------------------------------------.
/ Skyrim Choose effects /
'-----------------------------------------------------------*/

// Set to 1 for ON or 0 for OFF
#define USE_SMAA_ANTIALIASING 1 //[0 or 1] SMAA Anti-aliasing : Smoothens jagged lines.
#define USE_LUMASHARPEN 1 //[0 or 1] LumaSharpen : Also sharpens the antialiased edges which makes them less

smooth - I'm working on fixing that.
#define USE_BLOOM 1 //[0 or 1] Bloom : Makes bright lights bleed their light into their surroundings

(relatively high performance cost)
#define USE_HDR 1 //[0 or 1] HDR : Not actual HDR - It just tries to mimic an HDR look (relatively high

performance cost)
#define USE_TECHNICOLOR 0 //[0 or 1] TECHNICOLOR : Attempts to mimic the look of an old movie using the

Technicolor three-strip color process (Techicolor Process 4)
#define USE_DPX 0 //[0 or 1] Cineon DPX : Should make the image look like it's been converted to DXP

Cineon - basically it's another movie-like look similar to technicolor.
#define USE_LIFTGAMMAGAIN 0 //[0 or 1] Lift Gamma Gain : Adjust brightness and color of shadows, midtones and

highlights (avoids clipping)
#define USE_TONEMAP 0 //[0 or 1] Tonemap : Adjust gamma, exposure, saturation, bleach and defog. (may cause

clipping)
#define USE_VIBRANCE 1 //[0 or 1] Vibrance : Intelligently saturates (or desaturates if you use negative

values) the pixels depending on their original saturation.
#define USE_CURVES 1 //[0 or 1] Curves : Contrast adjustments using S-curves.
#define USE_SEPIA 0 //[0 or 1] Sepia : Sepia tones the image.
#define USE_VIGNETTE 0 //[0 or 1] Vignette : Darkens the edges of the image to make it look more like it was

shot with a camera lens. May cause banding artifacts.
#define USE_DITHER 0 //[0 or 1] Dither : Applies dithering to simulate more colors than your monitor can

display. This lessens banding artifacts (mostly caused by Vignette)
#define USE_SPLITSCREEN 0 //[0 or 1] Splitscreen : Enables the before-and-after splitscreen comparison mode.

anyone know of a mod (on steam preferably) that adds more options to character customization, things like more face paint styles,hair styles and such?

nothing non lore friendly though, has to be in keeping with the games theme.
