The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

The grass/trees etc are Vurt's Skyrim Flora Overhaul, the Summer Edition. Makes everything much greener, the tundra near Whiterun for example is gone (I never liked it anyway).

The ENB is just for the colour changes and detailed shadows. I think nearly all ENBs have some problems. With Seasons of Skyrim I am using, when going near Word Walls the colours become inverted (or negative maybe) and it looks crap while you learn the word of power.

The screenshots are uploaded to www.imgur.com and I put them in spoiler tags.

Ok, thanks.

I used seasons of skyrim ENB and a couple of others, they were no better than the pack put together on this thread. I had the same thing happen at the wall with seasons as you did.

Gonna try and upload a few pics over the next few days, take a look I would like your opinion (and that of others) on how to improve graphics even further.

I used TS5 edit to clean some of master files today and it seems to have been a success.

Even to this day, I find it hard to appreciate how much maintenance running a game of Skyrim for a long period of time takes. I used the tutorial, and it seems to have helped with the random crashes, as I've not had one all day.

Time will tell...

I must say Fanatic, your screenshots bring a tear to my eye, i wish my game looked like that. Only got a duel core, a 6850 and 4 gig of ram :(. But that has not stopped me from trying to get the best i can from my little system ;)
So i had to aim at a better game experience and better graphics with very little stain on my system :p. Got a few screenshots lol, they look pants compaired to yours but a bit better than vanilla :D

Spent nearly a week modding skyrim, I've seen the beginning intro sequence about 60 times.

I have over 200 mods installed, and a few mods seemed to be causing me trouble which is why it took so bloody long. Seems to be something to do with them and SkyUI.

I also have a copy of the Skyrim Realistic Overhaul + Dawnguard + Patches all in 2048k res if anyone want its. 4.3gb in size roughly. Mainly aimed at people using Texture Pack Combiner.

Will be posting some screenshots soon i hope!

Only major issue now is the stuttering problem with ATI cards, i can't seem to stop it from happening. I've removed vsync from skyrim.ini and ccc and yet its still there.

Yeah that duel core is going to be your biggest problem :). You could always try ENB anyway, if you turn off DoF/SSAO/SkyLighting then the performance hit isn't that bad :).

I think you need to turn vsync on and limit your FPS to 59.

If there's one thing I've learned about Skyrim, it's not to touch UGrids. No more than 5, no matter what your rig.

I had it at 7 for ages and it worked fine, then Dragonborn came out and it really didn't like it. Back to 5 now. Shame really because I hate things popping into existence in the distance.

I had it as 7, with the very odd ctd. Same as me, exactly when Dragonborn came out, every 10 mins ctd.

I would prefer it at 7, but I'd rather have a stable game than a few more trees. Using a reasonably decent DOF in your ENB helps too.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE mate i been looking for the RO files for ages now don't want to go on some dodgy torrent site to get it... if you can send me em via fileshare or other means i would be EXTREMELY thankful.... message me if you want... MANY thanks...

(are they the originals from Nexus? heard lots of inconsistancys with the torrant files)

its not really demanding tbh though saying that when i had a 7850 it would slow with anything more than 10 mods on but they were quite heavy mods.

it doesnt slow down now though with the 7970, but i get weird stuttering when im in certain areas, could it be excessively high frame rates clashing with vsync? overall though its smooth and constant 60fps

all my mods are off the steam workshop too, not really had any need to look on the nexus despite it having a larger variety

Mine doesn't slow down at all and never has, most of the mods I have added are graphics based the only thing that slowed it down, was one iteration of ENB, which I got rid of, I tried a different ENB with SSAO enabled and that was fine in terms of smoothness, but the truth was the game looked better WITHOUT the new ENB on.

It could be, I have read that having vsync on can cause issues.

I've had Skyrim for a while and not played it, but I've decided to give it a go and hope it runs ok on my Q6600, 8Gb & 5770 1Gb PC. What are the main recommended mods to start with that aren't graphics related? I don't want to reduce the performance, but want better AI, UI etc... I was looking at the unofficial patch, SkyUI, deadly dragons, and PISE.

Also, does it suffer from the rubbish creature leveling that Oblivion did?

I spent quite a bit of time swopping and changing mods around trying to get things feeling good and not slowing my 6850 1gig card and duel core down so i can recommend these mods for game play enhancement :)

For the UI i recommend these :)

Your gonna need SKSE for running skyui and a few other mods
Skyui, Ihud and Categorized Favorites Menu and A Quality World Map

For game play enhancements i recommend these :)

I always use the unofficial patches
Armored Skeletons, High Level Enemies,Deadly Dragons,Deadly Combat,Dragon Combat Overhaul, No skill limit (removes 100 skill limit for npcs from world),Skyrim Perk Enhancement and Rebalanced Gameplay SPERG (great change to leveling and perks like this the best so far) ,skyrim community uncapper ,TK Hitstop and TK Recoil

Just started using these the past few days, Upgraded Weapons and Armours (improves drops from enemies, only small bug is sometimes you find armour lying around, mod guy is looking into it) and Marco's integrated Leveled Lists (everything in game and dlc and weapon and armour mods can drop from enemies). These make a bid difference to game loot :)

Mods that makes things a bit easier :)

Auto unequip ammo, closer quivers and longer arrows (if you use a body mod like CBBE or UNP), Faster Mining, Glowing Ore Veins 300, Lockpick Graduation by Lilyu - option C, New animation for get up ( gonna need this for deadly dragon combat overhaul, gonna get throw around a lot), smaller ice spike and ice spear - 50%, swearing mudcrabs (makes me laugh),

I can recommend a few other mods, weapons and armours etc if your interested but these make a difference to the game

PS i have tryed ASIS (the new version of PSIE) it works great but if combat is your thing then Deadly combat is so much better combined with TK hitstop and TK Recoil
