wow!

Wish they'd hurry up and fix NMM though :(

RCRN is a total lighting and shaders revamp, it grants you an immersive gameplay experience without ruining the original feeling, finely tuned for indoor and outdoor scenes it also provides an incredible dynamic experience, weathers, lighting sources and HDR are dynamically generated and managed with our Hybrid Shaders engine!

I'm trying to see the differences between vanilla Skyrim and Skyrim with the official HD texture pack but when I deselect the HD files in the Data Files section of the launcher I don't see any difference in quality during gameplay? Is this because the HD files have already overwritten the vanilla texture files?

Will selecting to not update Skyrim during installaion cause other DLC from being downloaded like Dawnguard? I essentially want the unofficial 2k pack and my purchased DLC but without the official texture pack. Thanks.

On a side note, I have been successful in most mods but don't understand how turning off mods in launchers work. Surely the amount of copy and replacing of texture files when prompted during extraction to the data folder results in original textures not being available when you deselect mods?

You don't overwrite anything. The vanilla files are located inside .bsa files inside your data folder. Mods either have their own .bsa files or create folders that mimic ones found inside the official .bsa files such as /landscape or /armor which tell the game to override specific vanilla files in game. I've never seen a mod that edits a single vanilla file yet.

Ahhh I see. :)

As for not being able to see the difference, it's super subtle as I have now found out...

Hmm not sure what's causing it, with which mod but I'm getting some awful stuttering! For example when I'm walking it does the odd stutter, but it's worse when I do a fast 360 turn. It's almost as if it freezes!

Frame rates are fine :(

Most likely a ploy to push people to premium :p

Nah, I'm premium and it's naffed for me too.

I think the the site was getting attacked, it was getting slowed to a standstill so they changed servers recently. Now it's just teething troubles getting everything back working again.

My NMM won't sign in but you can still download from the site manually and instal.

Also I tried ModManager last night. What a mess. Mods didn't to work , it got confused with others and didn't know where to place updates etc. Took me about another 2 hours getting my game back to normal afterwards as it messed about with a few things and I had to basically re-install everything.

Never again.

What, you mean the Mod Organiser?

If so, I'm very sorry to hear that - I wouldn't have recommended it if I wasn't totally happy with it. Did you use it after having already modded the game through NMM? AFAIK it's one of those tools where you need to start from scratch on a vanilla install, because of it not touching the data folder - once set up it worked flawlessly for me.
