The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Just be careful when using STEP as you will hit a wall of issues when new updates come out for mods. Especially when mods add new features, you'll have figure out if that feature is mentioned in the step guide.

For example, hypothetically speaking

Skyrim HD version 1.30 was fine, then Skyrim HD update 1.31 improves all the leaves, and you've got another mod in STEP that previously was fine, it might start throwing up a problem.

Jesus... I went to make a start on STEP and wow it's indepth. Mind you, I got as far as about to run the first bench mark which is basically installing the game. But I read ahead a step before doing one.

Anyway, the benchmark they want is silly to do each time, too indepth. Do I HAVE to follow their benchmark to the letter? Does it actually help me in any way?

The game is locked to 60fps anyway...

Ding sound means it's working. It should show up in the task manager though, anything you can right click on? There should be a menu for turning on TB - Force Vsync e.t.c

Anybody know how to get Get Snowy, Realistic Needs and Diseases, Wet and Cold and Hunterborn working with Frostfall? I've read all of the mods and every single one claims compatibility not only with Frostfall but with each other too, yet no matter which one I install, it causes the crappy engine to CTD upon loading a save. Cheers!

Thanks, but I'm very fussy for that reason. I do not allow Wrye Bash to update mods and I'll turn Skyrim updates off in Steam once all the mods are in.

Neil, please don't be offended by people using STEP. Your guide is great, and I used it religiously when I first started playing Skyrim, so thanks for that. As said by pooley, it is a great guide - STEP is a LOT of work and I only went to it because I want to install a lot a of mods that are conflicting. STEP is a concise (albeit not perfect) guide that helps iron out and resolve these issues,

Got the load order correct? Does the save have mods in that have since been removed?

Thanks for explaining Amraam :)

No worries, Radeon Pro is recommended for AMD if D3Dovverider doesn't work..

It has TB, Force VSYNC, Flip Queue size etc

followed a youtube video and its boosted my FPS up to 60 as it was only hitting 50 previously but im still getting the micro stutter when on ultra going drop it down to high if im still having issues do you think a GPU upgrade might solve it? im running a 7870 bloack knight 2GB atm but seen the sapphire 270x OC 4GB on offer
