The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

If it ain't broke...

I think it's probably because it'll override the Opeth weather stuff amongst other things.
No idea what's better though.

Fwiw, I prefer my nights fairly dark. Not blackout levels, but realistic light of the stars kind of thing and likely to need a torch.

I disabled both CoT and elfx... and I didnt like it... the dark areas were too blue.

I have re-enabled elfx, but not CoT and much better now...DoF is certainly working well now.

EDIT - see with both elfx and COT disables, the rocks too far too blue.

But with ELFX only enabled I get this... awesome DoF.

and in good light this...

I also read not to use other lighting/weather mods with opethfeldt so i never tried. I might have a go now as i also found the nights a bit blue. It did help tweaking the night saturation.

Another reason I like openfeldt is the in built setting menu. The early enb where a pain to tweak out of game.

if you want better darker nights, but have the land lit up, then try one of the night sky mods, they light up the environment and it looks beautiful. These are some screenies of my night time, ive turned off DOF in one of them so you can see the sky properly..this is Horizon Of Dreams and Shooting Stars mods with COT and Realvision. This is just before the sun started to come up, so there is a little extra light, but I love these night sky mods.

What textures packs are you running and are you using the Static mesh improvement mod?

Here's a few random shots from before I tweaked the enb settings for the better.
I think it's realvision + ELFX with other stuff, though I've tried a few different enb/lighting mods and can't be sure what's in these pics tbh. CoT is definitely there.
Real Clouds is an awesome mod, though it can be a little glitchy sometimes.

Nice, you use a lot of the same mods as I do. I do agree that Real Clouds is an awesome mod. You should also try denser grass, it's like dat grass mod, but not as green.

I'm using Grass on steroids, Lush tress and grass, Flora Overhaul and Hybrid's HD plant s and herbs.
Pretty sure that I changed iMinGrassSize to 90-100 because it was just too thick and obscuring at 75 and below.
Not sure I want to make it more dense tbh :)

Hi All,

Quick questions regarding ENB's. I've tried a couple and not too fussed on them, colours look too saturated to me. However, I did notice that they upped my GPU usage to 99%!! When I play normally it only hovers about 50/60%. I'm sure my CPU is a bottleneck for this game but I'm confused as to how an ENB can suddenly up my GPU usage if it's already bottlenecked?
Also, does anyone run Climates of Tamriel without an ENB?

Anyone playing skyrim on a 780, 280 or 290? Any good ?

I play it on a 780... even with a hell of a lot of mods and running an ENB i play at 60fps except for areas like whiterun which drops to about 50 just for the shear amount of stuff thats going on..

On quests which are in doors or large open areas FPS never seems to drop.

What are people running mod wise that seems to eat VRAM? You hear all the time about modded Skyrim being an apparent VRAM killer but I can't see it? Least not at 1440P. I'm running half a dozen 4K texture packs, SSAO in slow mode with ENB, FXAA etc and it's barely touching 2.5GB. Looks amazing though, really enjoying getting back into this.

There are many many gpu's with only 2GB Vram, you don't notice it because most likely you have a 3GB or even 4GB card
