The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Stupid steam. Went offline without me releasing, so when I went to launch Skyrim it reset all my ini files. Silly me for not having a backup nor setting them to read only. Oh well, no choice but to redo them!

I've installed a few mods via NMM and only some are working. I heard you have to install them in a particular order. Anybody know what I should do?

Sorry if this was already asked/explained.

what mods?

Some require you to instal SkyUI and Skyrim script extender before they work and you can turn them on.

If it is an order thing, try this Better Oblivion/Skyrim Sorting - but I rarely use it.

in other news.

Tried the Nvidia 3d vision thing on the PJ last night, used this.. 3d vision fixer and it worked great, but only at 30fps for some odd reason. if you fancy a dabble. Turn shadows to medium and drag contents to the Skyrim.exe folder.

Before you get too far into it, I would ditch NMM and use Mod Organizer instead.

It's miles better, the main difference is that NMM stores all the mods and plugins in the /data folder while Mod Organzier keeps everything you install in it's own tree system that uses the hook system to register the files with the game.

Sum up, if something goes wrong then you can easy fix it.

It also shows you what files that require updates or what will cause you to crash and finally it shows what plugin is conflicting with a other plugin.

It's really easy to install mods that do the same thing so with this installed, it tells you.

A heads up for anyone downloading any new Skyrim MODs at the moment.
Theres a big post on Skyrim Nexus with the details.

TLDR:- A password stealing trojan has been placed into some of the mod files (Mod Organizer) being one of them. Once your infected, your Nexus details are used to update another mod with the infection and thus its propagating through the site. Its also grabbing all the PWs stored within your browser.

Thanks for sharing this.

Looks like we safe if we just ignore new users uploading new files while the old ones are fine.

So It's alright to download Mod Organizer as long as I don't download new files?

Got back into this after a short break. 112hours in, I think it's time to go see the GreyBeards haha. I have a lot of Thuums considering my character doesn't know what being Dragonborn means yet haha

Can anyone recommend some good graphics mods? Getting a new graphics card next week and feel I should try and push the VRAM on it a little.

Save game script cleaner
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/?

1. Click open, choose a save game file.
2. Click FixInstances, its removes all orphan script instances.
3. In left list, scripts that starts at "#->" select one and click a Delete script.
When you have removed all of those scripts who starts at #->, click Save button -> overwrite.. -> yes (only if u have backup).
Load a save in game, and save it again. Now it should be fully cleaned.

Also you can do step 3 before step 2, if you like so.

Isn't this already in SKSE?

Think the command is ClearInvalidRegistrations ?

Its automatically turned on, so when you save or load a game (Can't remember which) it auto clears?

Try the save cleaner, there are tons of invalid scripts still left in
