The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Has to be said, the mod manager certainly makes things easier!

It's not ideal though, you might need to manually overwrite some files at times.

At least I had to, possibly because of leftovers from previous manual installs.

EDIT: great, I bashed it a little and now it's force closing on me instantly. :(

Bad experience with NMM now, crashing on me constantly.

Can somebody tell me what files are in the vanilla game in the Data folder?

I'm fairly sure it's Strings and Video folders, but can't remember if there were any loose files or ones in the texture folder.

As far as i can remember, there was not a texture or mesh folder.

edit- no there definitely wasn't

So vanilla would be this without the texture/mesh folders and the plugin-

Thanks for that. I think the Interface folder shouldn't be there either but not sure about that. I'll delete it just in case and let steam rebuild the files.

Have you got the original Skyrim.ini file by any chance?

Nvidia 3d Vision Compatibility Project

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=789

As you already know, the game looks awesome in stereo 3d with 3d Vision, but it have a few problems with water and sky. I am fixing them, expect new version soon.

----------------------------------------------------

v.0.1

Fixed Stars. Compatible with any star retexture mod.

Cant wait for his water fix unless Nvidia fix it first, this game is awesome in 3D :)

This is great if it actually works. Any known bugs?

Bugged for me. I changed draw distance from 1000 to 1500, enabled 3.0 shaders and fog, and fps dropped to 1-2 indoors! Changed the values back but still bugged. Had to delete and restore copied ini's.

I'm experience silent CTDs on all my saves now.

It's either a mod playing up or one of the configs is broken.

Mods and tweaks that especially alter the landscape (such as configs that load or render more cells) are incompatible with save states, you need to start a new game every time. Been like this since Oblivion.

what about just tweaking the ini to increase the grass and tree draw distance?

I removed all mods from the landscape folder, still crashing.

It loads the save and I can play for a few seconds before a CTD.

No save seems compatible now.

Help?

I've had this myself - see if you can backup the saves and reinstall the game, I know this is a really horrible inconvenience, but it's what I had to do to get the saves working again. The save games are located in my documents/my games/skyrim. :)

I would recommend you do 'verify game cache' first by right clicking Skyrim on your Steam games list and choosing that option there. It will do a partial repair as opposed to a complete reinstall. Try that first!
