The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I'd love to install some of these MODS but I can't get them to work, the windowless MOD would be fantastic, and I'd love to try out some of the graphical ones.

Any help? I've tried but it just results in the game crashing as soon as it's launched :(

Disable Afterburner and D3DOverdrive.

Damn, just looking at this thread is getting me excited. Luckily enough Vanilla Skyrim actually holds up quite well alone, so I'll be completing my first playthrough modless, by that time (about thirty years at this rate, haha) the CS will be out, and there'll be a lot more mods out/more developed/less buggy ones.

Happy days!

what you guys think of my newly textured dresser

i dont know why but something makes me think the games simple bland textures look better than high res, its like the high res textures just look messy?
thats 4x higher res than the default one btw but infaltes the file size from 1300kb to just over 5000kb :S, the same texture set is used on a couple of different furniture peices though which i guess kind of makes up for the size

It looks too saturated and too noisy and uniform to me. I think it might be a case of if you change one texture you have to change them all.

Is there a way of getting textures, models out of the game yet(without an external program like dxripper). Want to check them them out for reference.

I'm tempted to have a go at making some weapons and things.

you can replace what is already there but thats about it until they release the proper modding tools.
it looks to uniform because its a small sample texture that gets repeated on the same mesh :@

heres what the actual textures look like outside of the game

i could do it much better if i took my time but i was just messing around while watching a movie

btw all you do is take the original image cut and paste the sections out and then find a similar high res texture to overlay as a pattern ;) you keep all the template lines that way and dont need to redraw them

btw for anyone who missed it when someone posted it a few pages back
the best FXAA mod so far
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=598

it makes everything look much more realistic and detailed than the other fxaa versions that are popular

Can that be used in addition to this - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=131

Is it better?

Nexus mod manager keeps crashing for me :( - I think it is failing to connect to the server, then just crashing.

better imo and cant be used with it as they are the same kind of thing
.

the one you linked makes the game look to cartoony imo

Some nice tweaks in here, fdefaultfov=XX for the win i love how this one actually STICKS after death etc. though I did have to change the ini then load the game then type set fov 75 in console then make a new save after the command. Seems to have stuck though :D
