The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Given your 1Gb VRAM, I'd probably stay away from texture mods, though you might want to try 2k HD Lite and see how it goes.

Try Realistic Water 2 and give Climates of Tamriel a go. Just stay away from ENB's as I don't think that rig could hack it :)

There's probably loads more that I haven't thought of tbh.

i can recommend these if your looking to save memory on textures, anything by this modder is great so check out his profile for other stuff he has done :)

Bethesda Performance Textures - Animals and Creatures

Bethesda Performance Textures - Armor - Clothes - Weapons

MOUNTAIN OR MOLEHILL

RUSTIC FARMHOUSES

and like some of the other guys said you can try other stuff but only use 1k textures, cabal got a lot done as well and run well, just try mixing them up and see what works for you

Right so I just picked up the Legendary edition... hoping to install it on top of my vanilla game + a lot of mods without completely breaking everything.

So far it's downloaded but doesn't show up - I think I probably have to try to run the game through Steam so it can do its "1st time setup" install type step first. My plan in the morning is as follows, any thoughts:

1. Back up the game folder, just in case
2. Back up the .ini files from My Documents, as I think re-running through Steam will surely overwrite them
3. Run through Steam (rather than SKSE), let it install then exit
4. Restore the .ini files
5. Go through all my mods and lookup if they have compatibility patches I need to install
6. Run LOOT again etc. and deal with the order and all that, I guess re-bash the patch for the level lists

Anything I'm missing? Bit scared to mess up my stable modded game with 70+ hours played :s

I think I'd finish that game on vanilla Skyrim and start a new Legendary one with all the DLC. Playing the DLC with a charcter who isn't super high level probably more fun too.

Unfortunately whilst in my younger days this would have certainly been a good option, I just don't have the time any more to justify playing through such a big game multiple times :p

I'm not too high level yet (around ~30 at the moment), and I have some mods on which I think make aspects of the game harder so I think provided I can avoid messing everything up completely it will be okay

So far I've loaded the DLC and ran LOOT without applying the changes to see what messages it came up with... First things first I think I need to clean the ESMs for the DLC, and get the Unofficial patch for each of the DLC. Then after that I think I need to switch version of some mods, and re-install others with different options selected. Bit of a pain but hopefully should be do-able

Decided to give Skyrim another shot with mods. Iv tried it a few times over the last 6 months but couldn't never seem to get the mods right and the correct order so it always ended up looking no where near as good as the first time it worked great.
What I find with mods is the order you install them and which ones you overwrite make a huge difference in how the game looks.
This is the end result from hours of modding yesterday.
Is there a way to list the mods without having to type them out manually?

Here you go lol...good luck with all that lot :D
A couple arnt activated and for some reason a couple downloaded twice but you can see all the mods im using.

Resize the images and repost please - Davey

I could post just certain sections like Enviroment or models and textures if that makes it easier or you can just pick out from that list the graphic ones. It shouldn't be too difficult.

It really does depend on the order you install them and which files you over write. I think im using the 8k trees and 4k rock textures but so many mods want to overwrite them so things like those I did last.

These are my grass settings in the skyrim.ini file too which effects a lot how dense the games grass looks. For some reasons it also seems to effect other things like the amount of stones on roads and things too like all the rocks on the floor when you come out of the cave at the start of the game. When I set imingrasssize to 40 there were loads of them on the floor but setting it to 100 there wasn't many. The lower you set that setting the more grass and plants and things there will be but the more it hurts fps. I find 40 seems to be the best setting for me where its just playable but looks stunning. Any lower and it just lags too much.

[Grass]
b30GrassVS=0
bAllowCreateGrass=1
bAllowLoadGrass=0
iMinGrassSize=40
iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7

Lol yeah

I used this...
http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/pc-ultimate-skyrim-mods-setup-thread-tutorial.1046511/

As a guide to start with. I think I installed most of them apart from the Game Overhaul section.

Once I did those I just looked up the HD 4k res 8kres and hi quality models and things that weren't listen in that guide. Things that I used in the past when I got the game to look good. Its a lot of little things but when you add them all up the game looks gorgeous. Then finally I installed the real vision ENB and then installed things like sounds/weapons/armour/quests/companions/lodges and things like that.

One thing I changed from that link I posted was the water mod. I like Pure Waters better than the one listed there.

Make sure you run skyrim using SKSE and sort the mods using BOSS.

All the details are in the link I provided above so use that to start with and then go from there.

Hat off to you Matson, those screenshots brought a tear to my eye ;), i would love my skyrim to look like that. I noticed on the screenshots frozen water falls in the distance, have you tryed SkyFalls and SkyMills - Animated Distant Waterfalls and WindMills http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40564/?, realy makes a difference

It also looks like you got the PC for it so i would recommend also trying Realistic Water Two http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/41076/? with Watercolor for ENB and Realistic Water Two http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48938/?. After you see the fish swimming around in the lakes and rivers you will never go back to anything else.real water 2 also has support for Wyrmstooth and Falskaar :)

Ps i can also recommend SkyRealism - Grass http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25370/? as a alternative to Grass on Steroids, it also runs better

I spent all of late last night (10:30pm till 3am) installing the mods Matson mentioned, my body isn't feeling great currently sitting here at work, but my it was worth it!

The mods I've installed so far, haven't been configured properly, but look absolutely amazing, completely changed everything about Skyrim. I think I need to play around with Flora Overhaul as some of my areas seem to have a lot going on.

As I have only the visual & some game play mods, installed I'd be happy to put a quick a simple guide together with all the mods used & what order I'm loading them in, if anyone would be interested. The guide on Se7ensins is good, however doesn't mention some of the configuring you may need to do when installing etc.

I'll add them to this post, but I'm at work, so can't add everything so will look like a work in progress throughout the day.

How are you getting on? I just bought the Legendary edition and I'm scared to touch anything :D
