The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

The background blur in your third pic that your on about is probably due to my armour set.

It seems some of the big a bulky sets cause the background blur when in third person mode lol unless you move the camera to the right position.

I had all the extra trees and plants in the towns because I was using "Town and Villiages: Enhanced" from the steam workshop. I guess you never installed it with yours.

So I'm using the same SFO now and the 8kx4k Hi Res pines but I'm not seeing it in my Load Order in NMM? When I load skyrim it's just floating birds nests.

Yours shows as "Skyrim Flora Overhaul - Hi Res pines for all" where mine is just "Hi Res pines for all". -

This is confusing me now. :(

Fixed: I downloaded it before manually and now using NMM.

Still no where near the same though...

I broke it! :mad:

Your enhanced whiterun looked much better... try my version im using the perfect whiterun mod. Colours seem very different though. Might just be the time of day but I would say mine looks more vibrant. Im pretty sure we picked the same enb settings though.

One thing that is annoying me is theres a mod I really wanted to use but I cant remember the name of it.

It was on Gamespots top 5 skyrim mods of the week once and it was a dungeon mod that would give like a 3D effect in dungeons sort of like a DOF effect but different. I just cant find it at all. It kind of made the passageways look deeper than they actually were.

That'll be why I don't have the trees! I thought it was already within a mod I downloaded, but the ones from Steam tricked me. :o

I've changed my ENB settings since those shots and it looks more vibrant now.

Just need to make my shadows darker, and I'm set!

Thanks for the help mate. :)

Looks very close now! what settings did you change with the ENB?

Also the one thing im wondering if you can improve in this game is the open wilds area outside of whiterun... I hate the look of that reddish grass lol

This is what I mean.

I'm using the settings which Real Vision ENB put at the end of the installation:

[Display]
bFloatPointRenderTarget=1
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1
bShadowsOnGrass=1
iMultiSample=0
bFXAAEnabled=0
iMaxAnisotropy=0
ipresentinterval=1
fGamma=1.2400

Which I've edition in E:\Computer Directories\My Documents\my games\skyrim which are all OK. Which version did you choose? I went Option A FULL, Realistic Sun Warmer.

Grass settings also = yours, I think my ENB has messed up somewhere so doing a re-install now.

Will post up some more shots shortly.

I noticed that not all those settings are there when I try to change th file, still looks fab though. I am currently taking the careful step of one mod at a time. Cruuently on "grass on steroids" some settings to change to sort out FPS issues though

You add the other lines in manually, so just copy and paste the lines straight into the file. The difference between me and Matson is out water mods and grass mods, think the rest is the same so if you see differences in screenshots.

Nice screenshots guys :) although personally I don't really like Realvision, the colours are just too over-saturated... I prefer the slightly more muted look of Serentiy ENB. I'll post some screens if I ever get my game working again!

Grass on steroids is an awful mod, the fps cost is insane and they have the cheek to say it BOOSTS fps! What you want is Skyrealism - Grass.

SSSShhhhhhhhhh!!!! I need to resist the urge to switch out my mods and add any more... I had one simple objective - install all 3 DLC and then get the game with my existing mods working again, so I can go back to my existing save... :rolleyes:

Must... resist...

Hmm... I guess I could just try re-installing all the mods from scratch and try out a few different ones

guess I will no try that then, moving onto armor mods, I have an amazing character model from cover khajiit and now want the armor to be as good as me cat character

Looking great Matson, you could try Skyrim Landscape Overhaul http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53632/?. It adds static items in the world to give a more 3d and realistic feeling to the game.

Will this overwrite anything... if it for example adds extra rocks.. will it use the 4k ones that I already have in the game. Iv got this game looking so great I don't want to mess anything up now lol. Is there anyway you can save your mod list incase you do or for future reinstalls?

Will removing Grass on steroids and replacing it firstly with Lush grass and then Skyrealism - grass mess up anything? I presume it wont change any of the textures but only the density?

I tryed it and it just adds lots of rocks to area around whiterun and other stuff to other places but it just all blends in like it was always there, i will post a screenshot in a bit with it active around the saame place as your screenshot, it uses your installed textures, you can just remove the mod and it goes back to normal. I am making the game look the best i can at the moment so will post some screenshots on a mid range machine soon :)

Tried the lush grass + skyrealism Grass. With the same settings as Grass on steroids it wasn't as dense and I lost a lot of foliage. The fps didn't seem too different either.
Its a shame I cant run this game in crossfire with the ENB enabled or id be getting nearly double what I am now.

you can run it in Crossfire mate and have DOF working...I know because I have mine working ;)

I have 264 mods installed, with crossfire enabled she's golden at 60fps :)

So, having bought this in the steam sales, how much time should I set aside to work out what I need to do and then download and install mods?!

Any advice on how to do that? When I enable it with the ENB I just get messed up colors, flickering and the fps are the same or worse lol.

yes mate, this is how I got mine working

1) Download Sharpshooters original ENB http://www.nexusmods...yrim/mods/15105

2) Extract the following file from it "enbeffectprepass.fx" and copy it to your desktop.

3) Right click the file from your desktop and open it in either notepad or notepad ++

4) Find or search for the line "#define USE_SMOOTH_DOF"

5) Disable it by adding // in front of it. So it will look like
"//#define USE_SMOOTH_DOF"

6) Then save and close the file.

7) Then copy and paste the file to your Skyrim folder overwriting the other "enbeffectprepass.fx" file from what ever ENB you're currently using.

You have to adjust the colours a wee bit, lots of tinkering with the sky in particular, but it's well worth it.
