The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Plenty to download tonight then before I go away, got visions of getting no gaming done now and just modding before going away for a week :p

You can spend more time modding this game than actually playing it lol.

Tony I still need those crossfire settings :p.

Getting a 34 inch ultrawide screen next week hopefully so I cant see my single card coping with that with all the mods I run and the ENB lol.

Hey chaps, when I'm downloading the mods and unzipping them they are appearing in a file in my data file, they then don't appear as an option in game whereas smaller mods which appear directly into data fill are showing up. Am I doing something silly here?

I'm just manually downloading them then unzipping into the data files.

If I copy the data from the larger files and post that directly into the data file it then appears to use in game, thoroughly miffed :p

I have them working in my weird and wonderful way, though strangely I logged in and had a new companion named Gorr following me round? :confused:

Got SkyUI, extended towns and villages, interesitng NPC and the smaller additional village mods for now.

Perhaps you might want to run BOSS to help get the load order sorted.

ED: Though I'm not sure if that needs to refer to whatever mods NMM/MO etc have registered or whether it just looks in the data folder.

There really is no reason not to use nmm. Makes it much easier to download and keep track of everything.

+1 as well as BOSS (or its successor, LOOT) which is a very useful tool for telling you when you have things which aren't optimal or might cause problems. Also TESVEdit is pretty useful for cleaning masters, and WryeBash for creating bashed patches if you choose to use multiple level-list related mods

Well I managed to get everything in and restarted as I had only put a couple of hours in. Went mod crazy in the end with armour mods, weather, UI, UFO, she'd loads of location and content mods.

Just back to the first village and will kick on from there when I'm back next week. The armour and cloak mods are great, characters and NPC's just look a lot slicker with the setup.

So I just tried to build a house in Hearthfire this morning and after buying the Morthal plot and getting to work I noticed that although it claimed I was completing various phases of the construction nothing was actually happening (i.e. just a big plot of empty land where the house should be)...

After a bit of Googling I was reminded that "Birds & Flocks" has some compatibility issues with HF... Disabling it and reverting to a save just before I bought the plot of land fixed the issue and it's now working fine.

However the version of "Birds & Flocks" I had running was specifically a "Clean HF compatible edition" - anybody got this working with HF or have any idea why it wouldn't work for me?

Anyone who completed the rebuilding of Helgen mod, does it have a recommended starting level?

Loving all the mods, only level 8 mind :p

Had this problem myself but I think it was the mod which shows region border names. Forgot it's name now as it was a minor mod and I just got rid of it, but I'm pretty sure it was Hearthfire compatible too. I just assumed there was a conflict with another mod which caused problems. Seems like Hearthfire causes a lot of problems with a lot of mods, to be honest.

Is it relatively straightforward to transfer a game save + the relevant installed mods to another pc with skyrim on it? I was quite deep in the game on my laptop ...would be nice if i could transfer the save ok.

Though its 2 save files an .ess and a .skse save files

I only have 10 mods installed should be easy to just download and put them in same load order as before with NMM yeah?

-> 1) Update.esm
(2 -> 2) hideout.esm
(3 -> 3) Ish's Souls to Perks.esp
(4 -> 4) Lost Art of the Blacksmith.esp
(5 -> 5) SkyUI.esp
(6 -> 6) BlackSacramentArmor.esp
(7 -> 7) BlackSacramentDBReplacer.esp
(8 -> 8) Cloaks.esp
(9 -> 9) hideout.esp
(10 -> 10) potions_poisons_0_1.esp
(11 -> 11) Sinister Shadowmere.esp
(12 -> 12) Sinister Shadowmere poison damage.esp
(13 -> 13) Proserpine_companion.esp
(14 -> 14) CerwidenCompanion.esp
(15 -> 15) EMCompViljaSkyrim.esp

Though...seeing all those very lovely looking screenshots makes me want to try some graphical/better looking enhancement mods now that i have my new pc :)

If you can copy the entire Skyirm folder and load order over and the other PC is capable of running them you should be ok. Vilja is the one most likely to cause problems as it's heavily scripted.

Its a known problem with B&F it overwrites the cell or some such. There is a supposed HF compatible version released. "Clean HF" probably means you need to install HF after the mod.

In short, it's buggy.
