The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Can I have some help please.

Ive got Nexus installed.

I have Skyrim installed.

I've linked up the .exe file of skyrimon nexus. Applied the downloaded mods but when I open the game. None of them seem to be on except the blood texture... its really annoying. I don't know what I've done wrong :/
 
Are the .esp files for the mods ticked on the Plugins tab in Nexus Mod Manager?

You can open the Skyrim\Data folder and see if the mods installed properly (look for .esp files similar to mods named in Nexus Mod Manager).
 
Yeah I did this 3 years ago but my mind just isnt working. forgive me for the screens, i just figured if you can see what I have done, it would save the headache of understanding my typing lol.

Your mods and plugins tabs don't match. You have plugins for mods not showing in mods tab. I guess you installed some manually? Or you used Steam Workshop? A screenshot of inside the Data folder would be useful.

To be honest I'd start over :). Delete anything that isn't vanilla Skyrim. Then in Steam validate game files. Delete all the stuff inside the Nexus Mod Manager folders too to return it to default.

Also you probably want to put those images in spoiler tags.
 
have you tried logging into steam first then after that launch skyrim through the nexus mod manager?

steam disables the nexus mods if you don't log in first and will use the steam mods instead

Where can I find my game save? I don't mind starting fresh but i'm an hour into the game this time round and the one thing I hate about skyrim is the start.
 
You won't want to use your game save if you start over. Unless you install exactly the same mods there will be problems.

Here is a save just before you create your character. So you can skip the carriage ride.

Saves are stored in \My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves. Put the .ess file from that mod in your Saves folder.

Yeah so.. that is a real mess :).

I think all the numbered folders at the top are wrong. They look like folders that should have been part of a scripted install. Looks like that has happened many times. There is a data folder in the data folder :).

I see lots of ENB files, all of those should be in the main Skyrim folder not the Data folder. Even though you don't have the ENB binaries so they won't do anything anyway :).

Defiantly a nuke and start over job I think :).

All I did was download Nexus, select files to download with Nexus and files such as the 2K textures were a manual download.

So what should I do?

Fully uninstall skyrim/nexus
Delete all data possible.

Redownload Skyrim
Redownload Nexus?

Or is there an easier, better way of getting mods?

I'm not looking to 30+ mods, I just want better textures, water, trees, sky,lockpick (Im so bad at lockpicking) blood, and that's it I think :/
 
Yeah re-download Skyrim (unless you know exactly what is vanilla and what isn't).

Make sure you delete the entire Skyrim folder as Steam will only delete vanilla stuff if you Delete Local Content.

Delete the 2 folders containing the Nexus Mod Manager info from that screenshot earlier. Then restart it so it makes new defaults.

Then download the mods again from Nexus site using the Download (NMM) button where possible. Some mods have to be installed manually.

I'd suggest using SKSE as well.
 
So I uninstalled Nexus and Skyrim.

Redownloaded both and installed Skyrim before Nexus.

Now when installing Nexus, it suggests the mod folder in a file they dont exist.. as shown.
