The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I tried modding Skyrim a few months back and all the mods and load order worked fine, but even when modded the graphics still kinda disappointed me, maybe I was expecting too much from a dx9 game. The vanilla game of it is just amess, couldn't believe they released a game with such poor textures. The blocky shadows really did it for me, I stopped playing it straight after I saw the shadows from the trees and such.
I might have another bash at modding it to see if I can get better results, would be interested to know what you have used too Luke and the order.

+1 for MO, and Wryebash with Loot.

Good guide here

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56894/?

as well as Reaper's I followed the Nexus giude and used mods from Reaper's list.

Looking very good right now, card will be replaced soon, it's not up to tons of mods + ENB, just trying to get it set up right.

Problem I have now is ENB, installed Real Vision, the game loads but it's broken there's red all over the screen with ENB and what I can only describe as 'crazy flickering' - top left it says something about setting bfloatendertarget to 1 in skkyrimprefs.ini(done that) or that I have more than 1 skyrimprefs.ini - I don't think so...

Any clues?

I dl'd and installed latest .264 ENB series before. I have disabled the fxsaa etc in the skyrim vanilla launcher.

I startup with SKSE via MO.

I did notice that RV was .262 ENB, would that explain it perhaps?

PS - Any recommendations for an ENB?

PPS - There's some amazing pics of characters in this thread, devious' for example 2-3 pages back, what mods are required? especially for faces and hair.

What's your setup and how does it run?

I'm running SLI 680's (2GB) similar to your 770's and a 3820 @ stock.
I'm getting 60fps with everything + more installed.

You'll find with all the texture mods & more installed FPS will be solid at 60, add a ENB and that's where it hits you the hardest.

I probably average 70-75 but have it locked to 60fps to keep things smooth.

@Darujhistan - Under Mod Organiser go into /profiles/defaults/skyrimpref.ini and set that if you're using MO. (It has it's own profile directory).
I'm also really enjoying Seasons of Skyrim, I was a huge fan of Realvision, but Seasons looks fantastic and not a huge FPS hit.

Reaper, thanks, there's no skyrimprefs.ini in there, all my mods are there and bashed patch, SKSE etc, and there's an SKSE.INI which has always been enabled.

So just to confirm... if I have Realvision ENB installed, I can untick it and completely replace it with seasons of Skyrim, and it will look as good if not better?

EDIT - Also, anyone tried project Parallax Remastered? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40512/?

I am using it, very nice add good depth to textures.
Works well on walls and paths especially.

And with Realvision if you untick it and use the install script you can select uninstall which removes all the ENB files from the Skyrim folder.

Each ENB places it's own files into the home Skyrim directory, these need to be removed before a new one is installed.

Are you using MO to launch the game?
It should have created 2 it's own skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini.

If not, then copy the ones from your Skyrim directory & place them into that folder, making the change to the bfloatingpointrender=1 (Think that's the parameter).

Yeah, MO then set SKSE as program hit run.

Copied both files into MO folder, the floatrender was already set at 1.

Still the same issue.

It s the best looking game I've played now it fully modded. Also the screenshots dont capture how good it looks in the flesh. With a good ENB the lighting and Depth of field effects are jaw dropping. I never liked DOF mush but found one that was quite subtle (serentity ENB) and its awesome.

The only think it lacks really is detailed distant terrain. It is possible to force but too buggy and demanding.

Just had a thought, it may be of help.

I hadn't touched skyrim for 6 months, and had an ENB working, I loaded it up and had the issue I described to you, so I decided I'll start from scratch and go down the MO route using the nexus guide and picking up mods as I came across them, like in your guide.

So this iteration is a build from a clean SKYRIM. Same problem.
