Running RealVision ENB (performance) on top of all your other suggested graphical mods and getting anywhere from 50fps in demanding scenes to 120capped inside.

Would like to average 60+fps obviously and would like to retain as much visual quality as possible

Are you also using Realistic Lighting Overhaul?
This causes darkness to be near black.

I did really enjoy it, making use of torches, wearable lanterns and magic but switched it out eventually for Relighting Skyrim, which made shadows less dark.

However if you press SHIFT + ENTER it will bring up the ENB settings, and under enblocal.ini (or one of them) you can tweak the interior and exterior lighting to make it brighter.

Regarding performance, textures won't hurt your FPS that much as you have the memory bandwidth to load them in.
It's the extra features like the ENB/DOF, distant terrain objects & certain animations that hit the hardest.

Have you enabled DOF through Realvision?
That hit my performance the most.

2x GTX970s... FPS is just 60, everywhere. DoF and Ambient Occlusion both on. :) Tis nice. Sometimes the ENB FPS counter says it drops to 59.1 or 58.2, but there is no noticeable lag or stutter when it happens.
 
Wow. You must have a biblical amount of high res texture mods then. :)

You have the same CPU as me as well only yours is clocked 600MHz higher.

1X 970 G1 OC here, 60FPS all the time bar the odd 50/55fps drop in two of the major cities. AO On - DOF Off
 
Outside whiterun can knock your FPS down a lot if you're staring at the grass with DOF.

But everywhere else should be OK, with slight drops when loading new textures in.
I would expect 1 x 970 to be perfect, my 2 x 680's are handling it fine.
 
After learning the Bend Will dragon shout from Saering's Watch and using the shout on the Wind Stone, the Dragonborn will be asked to cleanse the other four stones (Sun, Beast, Earth, and Water) to release them from Miraak's influence.

Stuck on this bit, every time I kill a Dragon Miraak comes in and steals the soul which stops me unlocking the Bend Will dragon shout :(

Any advice? Did ask before but it was Dragonborn I'm stuck in not Skyrim main quest
 
You can still get the free soul from Ustengrav if you haven't already. And he doesn't come every time, so you just gotta keep on killing them dragons.

He is coming every time throughout Skyrim, so probably bugged :(

I've got the shout but it remains locked till I get more dragon souls or something
 
Ok so I have a fresh install of Skyrim, is there a list to follow for modding so I don't get the order wrong. I did use an ENB on Gtaiv and it looked decent and that's something ive not tried on Skyrim. Can someone give me a order to install things if thats possible, maybe one of you guys will know. Going bed now so will check replys in the morning, hope someone has a clue. I edited all the ini files exactly like it wanted and was careful to install everything correct.

Search youtube for Predcaliber (or something like that), he has a couple of step-by-step guides for installing an ENB and a bunch of texture mods.
 
I have just followed every step from the tutorial videos made by Predcaliber, simple to follow and game worked first time. The shadows are still terrible and blocky. I know I followed every step so not sure why. I can't play it like that. Will check back in the morning lads, 2 long hours that took :(
