The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

What do we install, first the FULL and then install the optional 4k textures?

If you really want to give 4k a go, I think you just download the first one in the list. I did the second one.
Then make sure you grab the patch in the updates section released yesterday.

I downloaded the second one, and then the first. I thought the second one was the main files, and the first was 4k texture add ins?

Posted just above fella. That said, it is very nice and worth a go. I for one daren't even try the 4k textures with 3GB vram, not really necessary any way I don't think . I'm using the 2k ones and ran 'Ordenator texture optimiser' as mentioned above as without doing that I was exceeding vram with this.

Ah you even put a huge pic up of it lol, how did I miss that :o

I'm trying this today/ right now! Have to say, it's really nice.

I had to run 'Ordenador texture optimiser' though as my 780Ti's were being pushed to their 3GB memory limit with this. Since running that and a few other tweaks I seem to have as good if not better performance than what I was using before.

Going to add it to the top :)

Is there a way to tell how hard your card is working?

I have the older 2k Textures set with a single 6950 2gb, and it's a perfectly playable framerate with no issues at all, but people are saying that their fancier, newer cards are struggling?

Been trying Tamriel Reloaded HD a bit more today. It seems way too punishing now, my framerates are all over the place, and I'm getting crashes to desktop too.
I think I may have to sack it and recert to what I was using. I'd spent ages getting skyrim looking amazing and running really well, hope I haven't borked it

Yeah, it's pretty punishing. Looking through the forum posts, seems most of the lag has been attributed to the trees he's put in. Maybe he will make it modular at a later date.

I think I still prefer amidian born style though, even though it's obvious when you get up close that Tamriel Reloaded is of a higher texture quality.

Have edited to point out that it's very taxing..

If it's anything like JKL's city overhaul's it's almost not worth using, and as you said it's the tree's

Well I've got rid of Tamriel reloaded HD, put everything back to how it was, including the latest Skyrim Flora overhaul and tree lod tweaks. Have to say, it was reeaaaalllly nice how I had it, and it runs so much better. And no crashes.

I think Tamriel reloaded HD looks a bit 'odd' now in retrospect. Not sure it's as great as I thought. If trees are the problem with the performance, I think I prefer vurts latest SFO anyway.

Same here, I saw all the texture bits and just went meh, and went back to what I had!

I mean if you see my screenies, it looks fine as is and runs great! Still though, the option is there if people want to use it

just tried Tamriel reloaded HD and I dont think its an improvement over what I had already. There are some nice textures in there but too many look out of place and the parallex mountains look weird to the ones I already have.

Wont bother with Reloaded then. Thinking about taking out RLO. It's great in theory, being realistic.. but realistic is super inconvinient in dungeons where i can see literally nothing. Even in my house in Solitude its too dark to not use a torch.

Meanwhile, Wampires.

Quick comparison. Mine 1st then TR HD. Bigger shots in Spoiler.

Note, I was already using various texture mods.

Good comparisons Devious, nice work. Jury is still out for me. I'm trying again and have done a blend of Skyrim Flora Overhaul with TR HD. Crashed again. I'm going to end up breaking my Skyrim if I'm not careful :(

The mountains look weird. I like the ivy walls but prefer the old paths. Also not sure if i prefer the new building to the old (bricks).

Not sure i'm going to bother with the perfomance hit. Thanks for the comparisons though.

Since I not used any ENB's yet I thought I try the Tamriel Reloaded HD and it does make it looks better but... When I have the 4K textures enabled, I crash to desktop after a couple minutes. Tried without it and no crashes, then added just the 1-2K Textures and still fine. But if I enabled the 4K again, then a couple minutes later, bang, back to desktop.

Not quiet sure what the problem is, might be some conflict with the 4K package since the 1-2K ones works. Ohh and it is a almost fresh game, when I installed the Tamriel Reloaded HD I only gone from Helgen to Riverwood and the mobs I use I used in my 1st (and present) run through and they working relatively fine together. lol

Anyway, just thought I give my experience with this mod. Not decided if I gonna keep it or try a ENB instead with this playthrough.

Do you have SKSE or any 4gb memory loader mods? if not get it.
