The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I have SKSE and not sure if it is considered a 4GB memory Loader mod but using ENBoost as well. If that's not what you referring to could you please link me to one and I try it out. Thanks. =)

Recent versions of SKSE have a memory patch built in so if yours is up to date then i guess its not the usual CTD due to Skyrims derpy default memory management.

Wont bother with Reloaded then. Thinking about taking out RLO. It's great in theory, being realistic.. but realistic is super inconvinient in dungeons where i can see literally nothing. Even in my house in Solitude its too dark to not use a torch.

Its modular so you don't have to use it for interiors, personally I just use it for exteriors. Dwarven ruins are so dark I uninstalled it for interiors, then six months later remembered I'm Khajiit and have Night Vision and can see as well in darkness as in daylight with it... :o

The memory patch is built in but not enabled by default. You have to manually create and place a skse.ini file with the following lines.
Code:
[Memory]
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

Place it in \SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE

Ah yeah thats right, i forgot i had to enable it.

What what?!
I'm running the latest beta skse, but did not know about this. I'm getting crashes to desktop all the time with tamriel reloaded, and sometimes without it. Could someone elaborate on how to enable this? Do You need to do anything else apart from create and place that ini file mentioned?

As posted in the first post, to enable it this way.

IMPORTANT: - Ensure you create skse.ini within the \Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE folder with the following parameters, this is a much needed memory patch for the game:

[General]
ClearInvalidRegistrations=1

[Memory]
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

In regards to Tamriel Reloaded HD, I also were getting crashes to desk when having the 4K Texture enabled as pointed out further up in this thread. But using just the 1-2K Texture package it seems to be stable so far. And I am using the above Memory Patch so no clue as to why it crashes with the 4K Texture.

Ok thanks folks will try that skse ini tweak later. What GPU / amount of VRAM do you have fella? And what are your memory management settings in the enblocal ini file, assuming youre using enb?

I have two Sapphire R9 290 Vapor-X OC 4096MB GPU's and not using a ENB but using the ENBoost for now, the memory settings in that one is as follows:

Code:
[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=256
VideoMemorySizeMb=3968

Sorry for double post but got a quick question about another matter:

If I would install Steam and Mod Organizer on a different PC but with exact same mods running, can I then continue with same playthrough ?? Come to think I could try that since I still having this sound issue from time to time playing Skyrim on my main PC and want to try on another PC to rule out if it is something else on my PC that gives me the problem of not. If it make sense ?

You should be able to. MO is completely self contained, it just hooks all the mods you have downloaded into whatever path you have pointed it to for Skyrim - just make sure you copy all the mods/downloads as well if you set up MO to put them somewhere other than default. You may also have to edit some ini files if you install them to a different drive / path.

Is anyone having strange issues on SLI? It has got to the point where the performance is worse on SLI than a single card so I don't bother with SLI anymore.

Are there specific settings I should use in the ini file? Or possible custom NvInspector settings for this game for SLI?

Thanks in advance

I had the same issue. Low % usage with SLI.

I've moved away from SLI to a single GPU setup now. I'm totally sick of the 2nd card sitting there dormant.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one. The first time I tried it, it would sit around 50FPS - then if I fast travelled it got stuck at 30FPS whenever the game loaded again and I couldn't get it to stop(this was with Vsync Off)

And now, I just turned SLI back on for Skyrim, turned VSync off, and also changed the setting in NVInspector so it forced dual GPU instead of the auto 4, and I just got almost 200FPS.......

IM going to go back and play a bit longer to see if it continues

What is this? I can't find it on NMM.

Look again :)

I think this is an essential tweak to run, once you start messing with adding high res textures into Skyrim as most are thoroughly unoptimised. I just use the minimum (safe) preset for skyrim. It helps me to keep Vram usage under 2.7GB. Once I hit this amount it seems to be the cause of my crashes to desktop.

SLI users having problems? Works brilliant for me, so not sure what your issues are.

Note: anything above 80fps will cause really bad glitching/bugs. Falling through the floor and stuff.
