The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Do you think there will be any decent hair mods once the creation kit is out?

There 1 or 2 already out but yes, many modders are holding off the bigger stuff until the CK is out, I personally can't wait to see future quests made by the community in the future, some of modding work already is amazing.

As for SkyUi.... I actually didn't like it (dont hit me :D) I exactly prefer the default menu, I just use a different favourite menu mod.

Want more immersion in Skyrim? Want to see a village of farmers who are preparing to fight a troll ? Or be surrounded by 4 bandits, then be saved by a furious mammoths? This mod adds the possibility of encountering Bandits, Vampires, Thalmor, Necromancer, Atronach, Werewolf, Mammuth, Dragonpriest, Dremora, Boss and Giant Monsters and other, with a small chance of them meet together or 2 factions in one time: this creating faction battles and make the game more difficult.

Wont install it just yet but will track the mod, see what they do with the creation kit

Hm, I hope this won't break quests by allowing important or quest-related NPCs to die! No way will I install that just in case as there's too much scope for a typo or setting to send things haywire!

BTW this game has given me crafting OCD - my smithing and enchantment both flew up drastically yesterday! Lydia is now actually kicking arse since I made her some awesome kit. She has about 3 different items giving +33% one-handed damage and a shield with +33% block! :eek: Her sword drains a load of health and to be fair she has saved me from dying a couple of times when I've come up against an Arch Mage or similar.

My playstyle: I'm using destruction less and less now. I'm actually finding sword/mace and shield much more satisfying. The Mace of Molag Bal is nice now I have the Arcane Blacksmith perk :D

I think I'll do another playthrough in a month or two with a dual-wielding type using alteration for +AC. I wish they'd allow saving by character though as it will get confusing with a couple of characters. :(

For most people, the first play through will be the only play through. Read my earlier post about required mods.

I don't really see the point in making 1 character only. There are so many playstyles you can use. Its just not the same if you change to a different playstyle at lvl30-40+ to try maxing out other skills.

@Piano. You'll find that happens purely because of how poorly balanced Destruction is for late game. Try out the Balanced Spells mod I mentioned earlier, looks like Master spells may actually have potential.

I would say play without mods for your first playthrough

lolwut!

I would avoid game changing mods first time (like Midas Spells), and maybe spend a few hours playing vanilla before adding visual mods, but go for it on the graphical enhancements, extra weapons and such.

I'm using:

Better Circlets,
SkyUI + SKSE
No More Blocky Faces
HD Terrain Overhaul
Realistic Water
Enhanced Night Sky
JaySuS Swords
Real Ice
Watery Rocks

Absolutely no stability issues and has improved the game immensely.

Thanks, will check that out! :D

I think it was something to do with when you set Ultra shadows in the options, it didn't work.

Instead set Medium. Then start Skyrim, load a game, save the game again. Then quit and in SkyrimPrefs.ini:

iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=4096
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096
iShadowMapResolution=4096

There was a little FPS drop for me, but not much.

Although, it could have been ENB patch that fixed it for me... :) Currently using this config: Awesome Shader Suite.

Hmm has anyone tried this thing Tweaker Customiser Extender Awesomiser?

Seems you can modify practically anything.
Combat magicka regen %, health/stamina/magicka gained per level up choice, carry weight gained per stamina point, max armour, max magic resistance, etc.

Can also see how much other mods alter stuff and change it if you want, as well as some other stuff, without any conflict problems.

Gonna have to keep an eye on it.
