The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Thanks for the info on WIS and Warzones Krugga, I will definitely try them.

I am thinking of abandoning Nexus Mod Manager now tbh, it often goes wrong and some mods deactivate themselves, you can't really go wrong with installing textures manually anyway really. I might look at the other manager though(name escapes me atm)

I think this looks a little better than the More Complex Needs mod - Total Realism

  • non-linear, realistic sleep, hunger and thirst simulation
  • several types of food and alcoholic drinks
  • multiple need phases with various stacking effects
  • you can get drunk for real, fall on your face
  • drinking, eating and barfing animations (3rd person only)
  • can get sick and puke from eating stale or raw food
  • fresh food availability reduced in dungeons and world in general
  • refillable water bottles, can refill at any running water source
  • needs interactivity; penalties stack, if you are drunk you have less chance of barfing after eating raw food etc.

I'm not using all of Skyrim HD as it messes with some things that other mods are better at!, such as PERFECT water and that Ice mod.

Hey dude hope ur healin up good :)

Ye thats understandable as SHD is focused mainly on terrain, rock textures and stuff. A good (and tiny!) mod to check out is by KERPLUNK. It makes the rocks sticking out of rivers get a slippery look..a wet look. A tiny tweak but makes a difference.

Realistic Water Textures, Real Ice, Watery Rocks and Water FX work just fine with Skyrim HD, just overwrite its textures with them.

It has far better land textures than other textures in my book plus includes hundreds of other retextures as well.

Thanks man!, long road ahead of me :( but i'd rather be with my family and ocuk :)

At least you get to play some Skyrim!

Hope you get better soon, mate.

I'd advise against installing mods manually this time around, it's always better to uninstall mods before updating to new versions and doing it manually on daily basis is such a PITA.

Try Mod Organiser if you don't like NMM.

Thats the one. Mod Organiser, I'll try that out. I do find NMM very convenient but there are still mods which are packaged in a way which is incompatible with Nexus Mod Manager(but still have the option to dl through NMM on Nexus:confused:)

^^ STEP is brilliant, but as I said earlier in the thread, I do find his order for installing suspiciously alphabetical;)

Well mods that don't overwrite anything are in alphabetical order and the rest is put in an alphabetical order as well but then sorted in groups to keep them in overwriting order.

Easy to notice when you have a thorough look through his guide. :)

No need to install them in that order of course, just make sure that you know what overwrites what from that guide, otherwise some mods would be pointless.

Yeah don't bother, I installed them then loaded up the game and took one look at Whiterun and quit and uninstalled them.

The Sexy Winterhold mod is quite nice I think, using it currently. Doesn't actually change anything in the town of Winterhold, changes the College. Although the doors are a bit bright :)

How does skyrim HD compare to the offical high res texture pack, anybody got any comparison screenshots?.

It covers more textures but the textures in the 2k texture pack are superior.

The 2k texture pack will hopefully cover a lot more over time as he updates it. Just have to hope the guy doesn't get bored/ a life and stop work on it :p.

Google does.
Gaming sites are blocked at work, google images isn't bringing up anything to see a side by side comparison of skyrim HD VS official skyrim HD texture pack.

Also, if you use skyrim HD - does it overwrite the official texture pack? - or can you use both at once (With HD over-riding the ones it has improved).

I said that Google does as I remember googling that for someone in this thread a few pages back, bringing up at least three different comparisons.

Yes, you can use the Skyrim HD pack with the official High Resolution textures, see Skyrim HD's descriptions for details.

How are people’s temps with these extra graphics mods running? My 6970 hitting 90c with about 1750 Vram usage. I am using auto fan that gets to 50%, for some reason I don’t want to have my fan running at like 80%, think my pc might take off lol

Limiting FPS keeps the temps down for me. I play at 30fps which is enough I find. My 6950 is at about 80°C on auto fan speed (well the GPU mem is the hottest sensor and it says 80).
