Of course, I have a 144hz monitor and anything over 60 can cause major issues with scripts and timings in the game...

For example you might get a " I SEE YOU " and a Bear will be standing still motionless in the distance ;)

I have Vsync off no lag and keeps everything within game timing spec while not using the bad ENB limiter

I've got it limited to 60 now. Both cards sit at a constant 50% so I think 970 SLI is wasted on this game!

Might as well play on single card and eliminate the chance of SLI stutter and such.
 
Not so sure, I doubt I would get solid 60FPS if I turned off 1 of my 970s. Had loads of stuttering on 1 card, SLI is nice and smooth.
 
Is there just a definitive graphics patch that does most stuff? I've started looking into ENB and it has a ton of files. Without any idea of where to begin which is the best and easiest way? I quite like how it looks but if there's a quick and easy way to get it looking better then great.

Set up mod organiser and install the HD textures mod. All the info you need is in the OP.

Looks lovely but I just can't use JK's skyrim mods, they tank my frame rates really bad! Look one way, 60+ look another 25-30 and this is with vsync off! Not many others are complaining about frame rates, so I wonder if it's one of the texture mods I'm using from the op.


EDIT : Just uninstalled JK's Skyrim - Rorickstead(?) village overhaul and that same town was doing 25fps is now doing 60 all the time, in every direction!

I'm pretty sure it's shadow distance. When I used JK's Whiterun FPS was poor until lowering the shadow distance. Probably because so many objects are added that need shadows, overloads the game engine.

Be nice if there was a light version. Keep most the big changes like trees, carts etc. But remove lots of the miscellaneous clutter stuff.
 
Finally got around to check with another game if the sound problem I am having running Skyrim in Crossfire was present there as well, but it wasn't, so a question:

Saw somewhere else that a player deleted their .ini file (think it was that) and then let the game create a new one when they restarted the game (to solve a problem they had with stuttering). Where exactly would this .ini file be, is it at Mod Organizer/profiles/Default ??

And would it be safe to do, so to speak.. obviously gonna take a copy of it first, just want to make sure it is safe and the right one to try and delete to see if it sort out my sound problem, maybe something is corrupted that gives of this "crackling" sound effect, especially when talking with the NCP's, or follower..

Any other suggestions you might have would be welcome as well. :)
 
Sound card or onboard sound?

I have 24bit 44100Hz set in properties of my speakers in Sound -> Playback devices.

For me when I have sound problems sometimes opening Creative Audio Control Panel and restoring default settings fixes it.

Also try turning off any enhancements your sound card uses.

Using onboard sound, don't have a any space to put a sound card with 2 290's on the board.. You suggested the 44100MHz a while ago but didn't work for me when I tried it. :( But what I didn't think of was going through them all so will try that and see if it works.
 
TheSwede, the default profile under mod organiser is the one to delete and it will populate a new one when your launch.

Do you get the sound issue if you launch Skyrim through steam?
If not, then copy the skyrim profiles from My Documents and paste them over the MO ones.
