The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Remastered - MODS & TWEAKS

I was comparing between that and Verdant. SFO didn't increase the grass cluster much.

did that visual error occur after you disabled it? look like trees aren,t being generated after a certain distance

Any complete performance guides to follow with Skyrim Special Edition?

I have shadows and shadow distance set to high, godrays set to medium, screen space reflections off and the game is still running horribly for me, granted I'm playing at 1440P not 1080P. Set by the launcher

INI settings tend to be set by modder recommendations.

Skyrim.INI

fDecalLifetime=256.000 - Enhanced Blood Textures
iPresentInterval=0 - Disables the forced in-game Vsync?
bLockFrameRate=0 - Removes the 59 FPS cap with the 1.3 update
fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=35000.0000 - Verdant

SkyrimPrefs.Ini

bDecalsOnSkinnedGeometry=1 - Enhanced Blood Textures
iVSyncPresentInterval=0 - Disables the forced in-game Vsync?
bShadowsOnGrass=0 - Verdant
iMaxDesired=6000 - Vivid Weathers
fGrassStartFadeDistance=35000.0000 - Verdant
fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=20000.0000 - Verdant
bmouseacceleration=0 - Mouse tweaks

NVIDIA settings is a tricky section with the Gsync on or off for the game, refresh rate highest available or application controlled?, should anti-aliasing be operated through NVIDIA CP and disabled through the launcher? Triple buffering on or off? Vsync on or off?

Heard many conflicting reports about some of these settings with Skyrim SE :/. I still tend to get in-game stutters, I tend to drop frames which causes stuttering when switching weapons with the quick 1,2,3,4 options, low fps in some areas 35-40fps exteriors mainly (60+ elsewhere) even without a fps counter I can feel these harsh drops.

Prefer Maximum Performance and single display performance mode I enable for every game, Gsync is on by default (Conflicting reports with this on SE), Vsync on or off depends on the game and the fps, refresh generally set to 144hz (highest available - another conflicting report with this one on SE) Maximum pre-rendered frames set to 1 occasionally.

All of this with launcher settings lowered, no ENB activated just the colour reshade (HDR, Gaussian blur, MXAO, DoF etc all disabled to save performance, I cant even change this setting from uLargeRefLODGridSize=11 to 21 to make the game look a bit better because I lose another 5-7 frames :/.

I really need that 1080TI to come out quick, the 980 is holding me back from having that true gaming experience :|. Being held back is one horrible experience, all I want to do is crank everything up and be at 60 fps+ lol.

READ THIS!!! I MEAN IT, READ THIS. On Verdant's page, they suggest some other ini modifactions: About those - My testing shows that fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=35000.0000 , fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000, and fGrassStartFadeDistance=35000.0000 ,fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=20000.0000, fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000 (in each respective file) causes a 3-10 fps hit (on a 1080 SC). I don't recommend these changes, but your mileage may vary. . MAKE SURE your skyrim flora overhaul.ini settings are correct as leaving them at iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7 iMinGrassSize=20 can cause an unnecessary 20-40 fps drop. If you are still getting horrible frame drops, refer to Appendix Steps A and B lower in the guide concerning unlocking and capping the framerate, and if you are STILL getting unsatisfactory drops after that, consider the next file.

Might be worth trying the default settings instead of the Verdant recommended settings to see if it makes any difference.

What are the defaults pal? I never backed up both ini files, I think SFO also automatically changed one or two of those settings originally.

I no longer use SFO so I dont have to worry about the rest :). I switched to SBT (Personally think they look better) with the HD vurt pack in the optional files with realistic aspen trees and the Verdant combo. May try the HQ Tree Bark at some point too, as its compatible with the other trees.

Was wondering why my FPS kept dropping so far in places, even with the 980Ti at 1080p.

Turns out my INI files had things like DOF turned on as well as it being ran by an ENB. No idea how it was reenabled; I 100% turned it off and saved it. I wonder if BethINI broke it again. Oh well, back to the old read-only trick.

I have 2 main annoyances right now that I hope a mod can get rid of...

1 - Outside in the light, everything gets washed out, in the shadows, colour comes back. Is this a 'feature' or is it just a crap oversight by Bethesda?

2 - I'm leveling so fast with the Ordinator perks and stuff, I'm level 12 after a mere few hours play! I'm going to change my star sign as it's set to the thiefs stone which probably isn't help, but should I bother with the uncapper?

I loved the uncapper in Skyrim. Allowing my skills to go to 200 (what I set the cap to) was great fun. I had 1000+ damage bows. Obviously, it's game brakingly powerful, but it's fun once you've beaten the game.

I too have a couple of issues that I think are related to SFO:

Wrong Tree LOD being reflected:

And a weird, unmatched snow texture on the roads:

Is there, without changing the default look of the game, a mod to remove the horrible washing out the game does to the colour when you're in direct light? It's horrible and is ruining the experience for me :(
