The Emirates FA Cup 3rd Round ** Spoilers ** [4th - 8th January 2024]

He really cant complain about injuries if you go full strength against a lower league team in the cup.
Had we drawn any other team, it would have been a second string, had he put out a second string out today and got beat that would have been job suicide, It may still be job suicide if we do get beat.
I did say last week before the Liverpool game, because we were expecting to get beat any way, most Newcastle fans would have preferred to put out a second string against Liverpool to then have 2 weeks to regain some energy levels for the first team

You dont run your players into the ground then go again against Sunderland. A few sure...not this many. I wouldnt have gone with Gordon for eg.

As I said earlier this week, our form feels like the run up to the league cup final, and today feels like the final, Sunderland will never get a better time to play us

Form goes out the window in these games usually.

If you’ve got anything about you, you should be winning this comfortably at full strength. Sunderland team is full of kids with little to no experience of big games and while the pressure may have been off in the build up, it’ll hit them when they walk out.

Newcastle to win with a -2 handicap and a few cards is what I’ve got on.

Sean Longstaff just said it’s the biggest game of his career.

No chance Newcastle lose this, despite what many people hope by the looks of things as long as they keep their heads (something that footballers seem to struggle with it seems) they’ll have much too much for Sunderland
