The England Cricket Thread

Saw Zak Crawley said it'd be nice to go for 1000. Really intrigued how it'll be played tomorrow and if they just go until all out or declare. The bowling is going to be ridiculously aggressive from the off.

I think the pitches might be a touch flat over there
You reckon? :D
I watched some of Australia over there earlier this year. Was exactly the same. Over the three tests there was close to a 500 score in an innings in every game. Winning the toss and batting first gets you into a position where you can't lose. It's not good for the game. Good for the confidence of the England players though!

No surprise how they keep churning out class quicks and spinners. You must have to have something about you to bowl well on them pitches.

I like how they've all got centuries, except Root who is obviously rubbish, and then got out so we can go for the record of 6 centurions in one innings.

England are changing the way test cricket is played, not so good if you're buying 5th day tickets in the long run, but this pitch...

You generally can't buy 5th day tickets in advance anyway I have found. At least not for Ashes games at the MCG.

Pakistan could still win this if they bat for 10 minutes in the morning, declare, bowl out England for <100, then make up the difference in their second innings and clinch victory on day 5.

:p

Pakistan need 79 runs with just 2 wickets in hand, I can't see them winning from here.

*edit*

1 wicket now, they're sunk.

Oh wow. Both getting out the way if each other! Ball is bouncing very unpredictably even to the bowlers it seems.

What a finale! All the talk at the beginning of the test was about the previous test here only seeing 14 wickets fall, to England being so far ahead after first innings they could never lose to declaring too early to a nail biting finale against the light.

Test cricket needed a shake up to fight back against the short formats and this England side is doing that on its own at the moment.

James Anderson further cements his legacy as England's greatest bowler, 40 years old and takes 4 wickets on the pitch that's flatter then Kiera Knightley's chest and economy rate tighter then a Scotsman on an austerity drive. What more can you ask for?!?

All go again. Score ticking along nicely but a lot of movement. Anyone see this lasting more than three days?

Good innings by Wood to get the scoresheet up, but Leech's wicket was just stupid, that wasn't Bazball!

Good start, but will have to see consistent wickets for the rest of the day. Field placement is super aggressive as we're now growing accustomed too.
