The England Cricket Thread

Shocking! SA seem a bit lost currently, no doubt bounce back!

Stokes is turning into the consumate captain with that run out, you'd have seen him lose his rag in the past understandably, but he got on with it and it's paying dividends with the way Brook is going!

Amazing Debut! Well played Ahmed! Now to have a nice steady evening please England.

Well this isn't going to last long! Guessing they want to get the early flight home for christmas.

I've finally signed up for Sky Sports to watch Cricket. I haven't seen any Cricket matches since 2019 due to personal issues, but I'm looking forward to the 27th for the first international game this year!

Welcome! Pakistan vs NZ is starting tomorrow and I think that's on Sky Cricket as well.

I was expecting for England to crush SA (and that's as a SA fan) but happily surprised to see our batsmen finally turn up. Both teams seem to trying to build new teams, and don't fully know their best 11. I would not put it past SA to win on Wednesday and then lose a match to Netherlands, meaning they need to play the qualification tourny for world cup place.

Can't be many times a team has declared on day 1 of the first test match of a series. I could maybe see it happening in later tests when a team is trailing in the series and is worried about losing days to weather conditions so needs to roll the dice, but starting off at 0-0 and declaring day 1 must be uncommon.

2nd earliest declaration in history. Great to see this team really changing the way test cricket is thought about and moving it into an even more tactical approach and playing around with the way batting, bowling and when to do what is thought about, rather than the typical bat for a couple of days if you're in first and go from there that it seemed to have become over the last 10 years. Does help this team seems to be able to bat in the way McCullum and Stokes want them to, but the way Broad and Anderson are bowling is so different to the majority of their careers, not afraid to give away runs in pursuit of wickets is great to see. The summer is going to be great!
