The score of 2:1 doesn't show just how close this series has really been.

He looks overweight which as a keeper can't be good. His keeping has been a poor standard, his batting awful and he cost England the match at Lords with his run out. Seems like a no brainer to swap him out but I suspect him and Stokes are besties.
Based on current form it’s questionable if he cost England the match, he might have only added a couple more runs bar that brain fart.

You can. You could have three draws.

:)
Indeed, but I guess with BazBall a draw is an relatively less likely outcome compared to normal (first test illustrates this, declaration on day 1). I think 0-2 didn't reflect how close it has been but 1-2 kinda does in a way if you have the presumption that there will be be few draws.
People know we've have close competitive matches that could have been won by either side - England could be leading the Ashes but equally it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could have lost them already on 3 narrow defeats.

Odd question, came up the other day during discussion at the pub.

Ok so following Bairstows hiccup the other week, we all now know when a cricket ball is declared dead.

However,, at what point is it then live again?

One mate says only once it leaves the bowlers hand towards the batter.

Another mate says as soon as the Bowler starts his run up.

Who is right.?

When bowler starts run up or, if no run up, when they commence bowling action.

20.5 Ball ceases to be dead

The ball ceases to be dead – that is, it comes into play – when the bowler starts his/her run-up or, if there is no run-up, starts his/her bowling action.

Not sure if many are interested but the women are locked in a very tight ashes with the Aussies as well.
Its a different format, only one test, rest other formats, but its currently tied and they play again today.

There isn't that much difference between how the game is played really.

Sophie Ecclestone for example is arguably at least as good as any english mens spin bowler.
