The England Cricket Thread

Not a great day. Mediocre bowling from England saved by mediocre batting from Australia. 5 for 264 and still 166 behind.

Since Lyon will be out in the first hour today, we'll rely on Watson, Haddin, and Johnson to dig deep. Bad position for us.

OK, so tonight Australia opens with a bowler and the man with the biggest front pad in international cricket. Let's set the stage with some advice for Mr Watson:

 :p

Glenn McGrath
BBC Test Match Special
"Broad is the type of guy that will angle it into the stumps where the other guys will move it away. Looking at it live it didn't look out. That's a big decision, I don't mind it as long as they are consistent. Watson has had a lot of those where the replays say it is just clipping the stumps, there is no benefit of the doubt for the batsmen."

See the pigeon is chuntering again :D

Fantastic day for England so far, fingers crossed that Lythe can get some runs otherwise people will inevitably turn the pressure up on him and it's too soon for that.
