Poor argument. The UK would leave the EU, I will drive my BMW and get it serviced at a German owned dealership. Now go down that rabbit hole.

What has Europe recently done for us? Apart from excellent cars? Do you ever watch the Eurovision song contest?

If you want to move your family around the world that's your freedom of choice.

I just can't believe how more people cannot see how Great this country can be, and should be governed by its own people. A democracy.

EDIT: Then again the poll is showing great promise in the realms of this forum.

We're just approaching this from different places. I feel an emotional connection to the rest of Europe as much as much as I do to the UK, and think more about how great this world could be if we changed our approach to it, rather than how great one country could be. I'm grateful to have been born in the UK and lived there, but don't feel any great nationalist fervour for it.

Moving family around is of course our own choice, but is directly impacted by this referendum.

My signature should pretty much give away my feelings on this :p I'm very happy living in another democratic country, though would be a little more at ease if China didn't have hundreds of missiles pointed at me.

Edit/ I should add that I'm not smoking, nor a hippie, nor a university student - idealistic, yes, but realistic enough to accept that what I say is not going to happen.

You have swayed me with the once a year Eurovison thing.

It does highlight a more pertinent argument in that Britain has never, as a whole, held a sense of European identity. Perhaps us leaving would actually allow the rest of Europe to do what they need to do without us standing in the way.

Saying that, the contagion seems to be spreading and other EU countries also seem to be rejecting the political elite.

Don't have the link to hand but an article in the telegraph suggested that Brexit could force proper political reform and a much more democratic EU 2.0.

That sounds good to me. I'm all for being united, just not under a single political system or currency.

What about the fact that the systems failed when people were trying to register before the deadline? If you're told you can register until midnight, then hours before the systems stop working... is it your fault that when you go on at 10pm you can't register?! How long before the deadline should they have registered?

Any time in the proceeding 6 months would have been fine.

Natural selection.

Any time in the six months before the deadline, except for the arbitrary period before the deadline which shouldn't count/can be ignored if it suits your argument? Cool.

You mean like extending a hard deadline which now is flexible and can be ignored because it suits your argument?

Face it, if you've left it until 2 hours before the deadline when you've had six months, then you're not bothered at all.

What does it matter that it was extended?! As many people as possible need to vote in this referendum for it to be fair.

Do you mean like having both sides have the same amount of money to spend and the same access to the civil service?

Or, fair as in David Cameron having to appear against whoever the networks choose for the leave campaign, like Boris for example or Gove?

Let's not forget how Cameron fixed the TV debates at the last election.

How long before the deadline should people have registered to be legitimate, in your eyes? If the deadline is the deadline, shouldn't people have to up until then to register? I don't buy that not registering early = people not being bothered... it's not as though there was any access to info/should have been any benefit to registering early. Maybe people just thought they had until x time, so didn't bother to do it early as it should have been completely unnecessary to do so.

How long should we extend the deadline for fb ninnies?

Another week?

Until 2 hours before the polls close?

Oh wait! that's not long enough, better extend it another 48 hours until the 25th, oh no! still some stragglers, let's make it Aug 2nd...

The issue I have the length of the extension. The website was down for a few hours, and affected a relatively small number of people. A 24 hour extension would have more than sufficed to cover these people. Deadlines are are there for a reason.

Is it fair not to give people a chance to vote? That's really the only question here and you seem to be against people having that chance.
So far I've only seen Leavers complain about this extension. As someone said before, if the system can still process the registrations then there's really no reason for it not to be extended.
I've had only 1 leaflet from remain camp and about 4 from leave, to me that seems like Leave have more money to spread their lies, sorry I mean cherry picked "facts".

Awwww bless, it's been extended

Why are out campaigners so butt hurt? Honestly, if your damn campaign is that brilliant it's not going to do anything to knock you down.

All this 'fixed' business is just hilarious.

Exactly, opportunism. No reason for it to be 48 hours, 24 would have done.

Would not surprise me if they crashed it on purpose either.
