People attempting to register before midnight and not being able to due to a website problem didn't miss the deadline, can we at least get that bit right?

Good piece below for anyone who still thinks the EU represents some sort of benevolent humanitarian peace get together:

Reality check; it's an

unelected elite

ORLY

representing the interests of itself

Which are also our interests, since you know, we are part of it

and big business,

Having businesses, big or small, is good for the economy

and it's gathering steam and getting more and more power over our lives.

I for one welcome our European overlords.

Edit: also, comments implying that those who left it till the last minute to register are not considering the vote properly. What makes you think the vote of someone was a late registration as any less considered than someone who registered at the beginning? They've both had the same amount of time to think about it - time of registration is irrelevant as long as it was attempted within the deadline.

You also assume that people who registered early have actually spent more time thinking about it when in reality, there's just as much of a chance that someone who registered early has failed to consider all arguments properly and is voting based on a whim.

I'm amazed by the number of people who are angry that people are getting longer to register to vote. A deadline is there for a reason. If people are within the deadline and can't register due to reasons beyond their control, of course the deadline should be extended. What would be the point of a deadline otherwise?

I get the impression that a lot of people don't care about democracy, only that they get their own way.

Sadly this. I want this to be as fair a referendum as possible. I want everyone to have a chance to vote. If I vote remain or leave but the majority of the country wants to go in the other direction then so be it. But this is so important that everyone who wants to vite should be given an opportunity to do so.

The Govt. said it had to extend the deadline by 48 hrs because the site was down for less than 2 and people should have the right to register even if they were apathetic and left it until midnight.
But today they have said no more extensions so if we have another crash at midnight how will they spin it then ?

Top story on the BBC News website right now is about an MP you've never heard of switching sides to campaign to stay in the EU because some data used by Vote Leave might be over-egging it slightly. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36485464

A bit further down you have the Chairman of JCB telling his staff that he backs Brexit: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36485985

A story I couldn't find on the BBC News website at all is the news that Sir John Nott, former Defence Secretary at the time of the Falklands War, has quit the Tory party because of Cameron's campaign tactics. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...efence-secretary-sir-john-nott-suspends-tory/

Our 50years behind the times.

Think? It's quite clear that the BBC have been backing the remain campaign from the start with clever choice and editing of their stories.
