HoC only has two options to force an election,

If the House of Commons resolves "That this House has no confidence in Her Majesty's Government", an early general election is held, unless the House of Commons subsequently resolves "That this House has confidence in Her Majesty's Government". This second resolution must be made within fourteen days of the first.
If the House of Commons, with the support of two-thirds of its total membership (including vacant seats), resolves "That there shall be an early parliamentary general election".

pretty much, the chances are extremely high if it went that way.
Tories are more right wing and more authoritarian then they have been in a long time. with no restrictions on what they could do. workers, consumers and every other right is likely to be dismantled. under the vein of helping reduce the economic crash we would see,

At least we get to vote them out if they step out of line, something we can't do with the EU.

I'm not frightened just making the point lol :) The day I agree with either of those two or Boris for that matter is the day I book myself in for a lobotomy.

There are horrible people on both sides of the debate, so no matter which side you choose, you're agreeing with someone you despise.

its the same, you can vote for the emps.

can people please stop with theis absolute nonsense.

Unfortunately they vote for UKIP and our voice becomes the Government itself as part of the National Veto.

Unfortunately we do not choose our PM, that is the whims of the party political system, which should really end aswell.

LOL.

Did he consul the other 26 member states making the statement?
If not, that shows the EU is the Fourth Reich ruled by Germany. The same evil we fought on WWII.

If yes, then why we need free trade with them? Put tariffs on EU imports, and let the German car makers crumble. On the way to next year's elections also.
And his statement is on top of the £500bn we have paid towards the EU over the last decades. Do you want to be a member of the same club this arrogant politician has the seat of power?

Why does he need to consult the other countries? Germany will have right to veto any deal. You know same right UK has at the moment.

Edit: just to add. You think he's arrogant but Leave politicians who keep saying that UK will have access to single market when they're not even in position to negotiate yet aren't arrogant?
If anyone comes across as arrogant it's you.

You really think the UK putting a tariff on EU imports will work out well for us?

Making the German car makers crumble :D you realise they sell worldwide, right?

Indeed. If anything the EU is MORE democratic than the UK as it doesn't have an unelected House of Lords and unelected monarch as head of state.

Power is held by the MEPs (directly elected) and the European Council (representatives of each elected government).

Don't be melodramatic, he's simply saying that access to the single market, either via the EEA or EU, requires accepting rules we'd just have voted against if we left. How could we leave then basically rejoin, what did we leave for?

A monarch that has no power realistically and the lords have been neutered to oblivion.

Well done though.

Didn't the Lords fairly recently used their power on tax credits? They still hold a position of power and aren't elected by people of this country.

At best we would end up like Norway who, in order to get access to the single market, have to contribute to the EU budget, have to accept freedom of movement, have to comply with EU regulations ... but get no say in any of those things. How exactly is that better than what we have now?

(Leaving aside the fact that freedom of movement and regulations on working conditions etc are all actually of benefit to the people of this country and all countries in the EU, which is why they were agreed on in the first place)

Suppose that the Brexit vote comes in on the 23rd and DC invokes article 50

People are saying that he'd have to go.

I'm a bit worried that people might end up voting leave, for no other reason than to oust him, not that I particularly like DC - but if that did happen, who would replace him? would we have another general election this year or something?

Surely it is obvious who would replace him ? (and no we would not need another general election, the conservatives would pick there own new leader).

He will have just taken a massive blow from his biggest political rival.

Trump, Putin and Boris Johnson the world has gone absolutely mad.
