I'm verging towards leave but tbh I think whichever way the vote goes our position will be weakened.

At the moment we seem to have the best of both worlds, we are in but we can remain sceptical and fight against it. A vote to remain would be a green light to further integration as we will have said that we want to be part of the EU knowing the direction it is clearly heading in.

Vote leave and we could be in a whole world of pain, plenty of warning from other EU countries (France in particular) that we will be made of an example of (which oddly makes me want to vote leave even more just to spite them).

I would love to think that if we remained that we could change things but there has been no sign of this in the past. Watching Paxman in Brussles really shows just how crazy the whole system is and how other countries want us to fall in line (described as the naughty child in the EU family :o ).

I doubt leave will win but it needs to be close to show that change is required.

Might be worth taking 25 minutes of your life and watch this

https://www.facebook.com/UniversityofLiverpool/videos/1293361974024537/

Although it is a Facebook link it does link to a verified page of Liverpool Uni which shows a leading expert in EU law. For me he provided clear factual points for both sides.

I did post this earlier but I think it got lost in the discussion .... Hope you find it as interesting as I did.

Another expert I see or paid shill as I see it. Yes I watched the first 15 minutes he is a down and out right Richard.

I am sick and tired of all the **** and propaganda being portrayed by the in campaign.

It has sod all to do with people, just big business, banking and people with money want in.

The EU is nothing more than a fishing net to capture as many people as possible into its arms, to accommodate big business and money.
DC said we have 500,000,000 people to trade with!
Well how about we trade with 6.5billion instead of .5 billion.

It does not make sense to me at all, we can trade with the EU and abide by EU edicts on trade for 0.5 billion.

Yet out the EU we can trade with 6.5billion without EU ie rest of the planet?

Not sure if it's been discussed but saw Boris on TV saying he loves immigration and wants to give amnesty to illegal immigrants that have been here for 12+ years.

Thought he was leading the Leave campaign but that was top performance for Remain. :)

Oh and the silence after he said that was golden.

Yeah, it's incredibly complicated and there's a load of rubbish being spewed by both sides/a lot of misinformation out there :). I'd suggest thinking about what's important to you, then going to a site like,

https://fullfact.org/europe/

And looking at what they say about the issues you care about/feel are most important. They try and offer a fair summary of the facts, etc. Alternatively, I believe the Financial Times has taken all their EU referendum stuff out from behind the paywall, so you can look at the quality press and see what they're saying (avoid the tabloids :p).

Edit :: Eg. I think you mentioned the £350m and if it's true, and I linked to the relevant page on that. Then you mentioned if there will be any EU army, so this is the page for that, https://fullfact.org/europe/hunt-eu-army/. Then asked about Turkey's chances of joining and this is the page on that, https://fullfact.org/europe/turkey-likely-join-eu/

I hope that helps.

Thanks very much.

Interesting to read that S&P will immediately downgrade our AAA rating, potentially by two degrees, should we vote to exit the EU.

I'll be voting remain to increase the chances of a second Scottish independence referendum. There is also the small chance that the vote will be so close that Scottish votes could decide the outcome.

England very narrowly voting to leave but being vetoed by a Scottish remain vote would be a glorious consolation prize!

Baroness Warsi has had enough of Leave's "hate and xenophobia" and decided to switch to Remain. Farage's 1930s poster strikes me as a misstep. Those who might be persuaded by it were already voting Leave, floating voters are more likely to be put off by it than drawn in by it and it is those voters than Leave needs.

From my point of view, more Farage please!

Being in the EU isn't stopping us trading with countries outside of it. There's not much reason at all to think we would have struck better trade deals outside the EU, and absolutely no reason to believe that we would suddenly strike such deals if we left. Yet alone enough deals to make up for having lost tariff free access to the single market where are biggest trading partners are, and the ability to influence the rules that govern that market.

The EU is always going to be one of the biggest markets for the UK, it's our nearest neighbour, it's culturally similar, and it's rich and thus a good market for the kind of goods we produce.

and nothing of value was lost.

and nothing of value was lost.

You may not value Warsi much, hell, she's far from my favourite politician but Leave needs to hold a certain level of support among Britain's ethnic minorities in order to win. Warsi defecting, and doubtless capturing column inches and headlines tomorrow with that defection, will make a difference to your ability to do that.

Shock horror with her history...

Just waiting for a couple more. Can't leave anything to chance.

dont you need leave top win to trigger a Scottish referendum as the Scots want to stay in?

It's a shame to lose this much loved and diligent Leave campaigner.
