Einstein almost certainly never said that. If he had said that about quantum physics, he would have been wrong.

I feel exactly the same about you, Mr Jack and a few other arguers for remaining. ;)

I was referring specifically to Errols constant harping on about people wanting to remain in the EU being traitors and betraying future generations. It's utter histrionic nonsense.

Great facts indeed. ^^^^

Add this to the moving forward : https://fullfact.org/europe/hunt-eu-army/

I'll link this quote as fact.

"The EU has a long record of creating institutions through the 'back door' and the creation of a EU Army will be no different. All of a sudden, the British public will be presented with a 'done deal' and British troops will find themselves operating under the EU flag rather than the Union flag."

If the UK leaves it could control its own border almost 100%. Border guards at ports, stations, the Navy in the Channel, immediate processing of any illegals who slip through (keep them in camps, finger-print them while we deal with them - effectively treat them as criminals).

Could you quantify what almost 100% is?

We already know the border force doesn't cope very well as it is, how much extra do you think we should spend (and where is it going to come from)?

I'd also be interested to know how you'd hope this change would be affected - given that none of our (electable) political parties have a policy to stop immigration?

If he hadn't said that why on earth would he be so associated with that particular saying. It's all over the web.

If you want a different result, change something. Try it, actually works.

Totalitarianism is a political system where the state recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible.

Ring any bells anyone??

Sounds very much like the current conservative government. Theresa May is almost a textbook definition of it!

Luckily, since the lib dems were chastised for stopping the biggest excesses last time round the EU is helping reduce some of their excesses.

If we were not currently part of the EU. Would you vote to joint it?

Thats the question I ask myself and to be honest the answer would be no.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and will vote accordingly but cant help but feel that the remain arguments have been nothing but scaremongering and predictions. The leave campaign of course are predictions also, however as we are currently in the EU should they not have been able to give us more facts?

The final nail for me was threatening the pensions! Obviously a ploy to try and win those OAP votes!!!

I really do hope the out campaign wins.

The “experts” said we must join the ERM – disaster.
The “experts” said we must join the Euro – disaster.
The same “experts” say we must not leave the EU.

Draw your own conclusions.

.

that's the dumbest thing ive read this year.

so how come pictures of marie curie on the net on stamps and else where are actually of her friend not her.

lots of stuff gets posted as "fact" when they aren't. being idely distributed a such doesn't make it so.

also the world has tried nationalism so many times and its failed.
lets actually try being part of the EU rather than this in/out sideline,

It's been covered many times, but campaigns for the status quo are always going to be less positive than change campaigns. It's also entirely disingenuous to say that the remain arguments have been nothing but scaremongering and predictions, when the leave campaign has been exactly the same.

Both campaigns have been utterly shameful.

Except the EU was born out of the idea of a single market to facilitate trade. What it's morphed into now is something entirely different.

We can still work together but do so on our terms instead of a central body telling us what to do and what to spend our money on.

The Syrian migrant crisis for example was brought about because of liberal thinking eurocrats and their reluctance sending military forces to tackle ISIS headon. Crackpots like Merkel then encouraging immigrants into Europe with no forward thought as to the effect it'll have.

When you say liberal thinking Eurocrats do you also include the British MPs that voted against action in Syria?

Have you considered that something on the Internet might not actually be true? Have you heard of snopes.org?

If you want a different result, change something. Try it, actually works.

Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result is called practice. :p

Ha! I missed that.

I hate to say it I agreed with Nigel Farage's assessment. If we vote to stay and there isn't some fairly competent changes then someone else will simply leave first.

I feel like we've somewhat missed the boat; if Cameron hadn't been forced into calling this referendum we could have negotiated EU reform from a much stronger basis: there are enough countries that want it.
