The Evil Within

So, why aren't there any PC reviews yet ???

There's lots of console ones but no PC, metacritic has lots of negative user reviews due to the bad optimisation. Have the devs asked PC sites to wait for a game update before reviewing it?
They are not allowed to speak about it until Friday apparently......I wonder why :( Many did not even get PC review code either its obviously been withheld because it would affect early sales/reputation.

The game may have ridiculous black bars and be limited to 30fps, but I'm still enjoying it..

The graphics although an older type style are quite awesome later on, getting a throwback to Resident Evil 4 vibe when playing. Gonna play this again later when it's dark :p

The only thing that gave me a little hope was when i saw that the game had been in development for almost five years.

I knew things was looking bad when they announced fixed aspect ratio and 30 FPS. For a brand new studio you would think they would go the extra mile to ensure they delivered a quality and good performing game across all the platforms.

Also, interesting hair bug: http://www.twitch.tv/dansgaming/c/5293557

This is turning into a real marmite experience for me. Just done chapter 4 and enjoyed it apart from the end, with one of the daft "boss encounters" where you have no idea what you are meant to do, so chain die until you figure it out. Then the ruvik guy right after it to really rub your face in it. Just as you start to enjoy the game, it creates artificial difficulty to make it seem "hard". The enemies and lack of ammo should make the game hard enough, not these daft encounters.

Unkillable? Can only run from it? Burn corpses in its way to slow it down? What gives...

Is it me, or is game development actually regressing at the moment?

It just feels like every game is either broken, very broken or completely ****ed on release, and takes about 6 months to get to a half decent state.

And most of the time it's the pc community and modders that end up fixing problems, rather than the developers themselves. All those huge budgets and teams of people. What do they actually do?

PC porting is an afterthough a lot of the time its outsourced & those companies do not always get credit for it either its done under strict NDA's.

Then QA appears to be minimal so they do it on the cheap & hope for the best when it turns out like this your waiting for fixes that may be ages away!

With any project ever, the one way to save money is to skip/slow down testing, why spend the last 2 weeks testing when we can fix that urgent feature and spend 3 days testing instead.

This is the problem with games, they don't meet the deadlines and testing is affected, also the testing team is always and ever small! The marketing team is normally 2 times as large as the testers, which I find quite worrying.

Awww, I thought you meant an official patch to fix some stuff. :(

Don't be silly mate, the developers will now wash there hands of it and it'll be down to the community to make the game better :p

It could be worse.. The game is borked on PS4 and Xbox One as well, PC (Pretty borked) is the best version apparently

At least the community will attempt to make this better though.. Still an enjoyable (In a creepy horror kind of way) game..
