The Evil Within

There is a post on Bethesda blog saying a PC patch is in the works and will be released soon. Nothing about multi GPU support mentioned, but I would like to think it's an absolute no brainer that SLI support will be introduced.

4.1GB patch is out on Steam. It fixes 60 FPS devs appear to have gone back & changed some of the data files which were causing FPS issues as the exe has not been altered.

Some also report SLI will work now but its hitting 60FPS without :D

I pick it up in the Steam Black Friday Sale. I think its ok, and not half as bad as the reviews make out. I agree that the patch came too late though. And it still needs a 780 to run at 60FPS. One core on my 690 was barely hitting 50.

Patch made zero difference for me, still stutters badly

HOWEVER, following a lead on steam forums I activated MSI afterburner OSD and magically stutters are 99% gone.

Remove OSD and stuttering is back.

Go figure.

Anyway, game playable for me now.

Have looked at several forum posts and its not very well optimised.
If you buy the game on Steam then let it patch itself its very well optimised once the letterbox is removed & 60FPS option is enabled.

Does not even need SLI its hitting 60FPS all the time on midrange GPU's.

I think there is still some issues with the id Tech 5 engine, for instance some people have never been able to play Wolfenstein: New World Order without stuttering or low fps.

When I get prompted to press space to for instance say defuse something, I press it then the box just disappeared and doesn't actually do it, what am I doing wrong?

Weeks too late, games already flopped.

I thought the game did well sales wise? - it was the No.3 best selling game for October in the US, and was No.1 in UK charts for it's week and stayed in top 10 for a few weeks. Sold significantly better than Alien Isolation.

Anyway, I enjoyed the game and will be considering the DLC for sure.
