The Evil Within

It sounds like a horrible experience! By that I mean it was surely stressful and generally frustrating. Are you sure it was actually fun?!

Haha, fun probably isn't the best word to describe it, though some sections were.. on the other hand some felt almost impossible and down to more luck than skill, for instance the construction / trolley part on chapter 11.

I never really planned to beat the game on AKUMU, i was simply just interested in the difference. Round about chapter 6, i knew i had gotten past some of the most difficult parts and felt like i was at the point of no return, so i ended up committing to the rest.

The satisfaction at the end made it all worth while though, one of the most brutal challenges I've set myself on with and actually managed to see it through to the end.

Now i can relax and play some Resident Evil Remake..

Speaking from experience, when I had the game running on one core of my old 690 (there is no SLI profile) it would get around 30-40 fps maxed out.

That is with a 2500K @ 4.5.

Since I upgraded to a 980, naturally, it runs a lot better.

I also read somewhere it is massively CPU dependant. I have no evidence myself, because I'm still running the same CPU.

Even though I'm only about 20 minutes in, so far this seems better than I expected. The game seems to run well, the graphics are reasonably good bar cut scenes and the movement and game play seems fairly fluid and less clumsy than I thought it would be. The camera does however seem a fraction too close to the character, as well reported, and there is already a very annoying bug with mapping controls meaning it's likely default keyboard or a controller.

Completed this a couple of days ago and the game was excellent upto and including Chapter 9. I think Chapter 11 is where I started losing my ****. the bit where you're in the city and have to swim across large gaps with these hairy squids in did my head in. Basically it just turned into COD at the last few chapters a bit like Resident Evil 4 did at the end with all the running and gunning.

How so? Has it been too difficult for you? I must be honest, I'm only on chapter 6 and already I've had to sneak a peak at the walkthrough. Twice :D

Which walkthrough are you using?

I got this for xmas played a few chapters and got totally stuck. Looked at some guide and it said you could blast your way out. I must have missed a ridiculous amount of ammo somewhere.

I like a lot about the game but I dislike stealth so going to need a decent walkthrough I think.

Why would you need a walkthrough for this? it's a pretty linear game.

I keep dying and must have missed items. .

Chapter 3 Claw of the hordes, iv'e just used the crank to open the gate and the guide says:

"zombies will rush into the house to flank you. If you've got the skills, shoot them all down. If not, read the box below to learn about a zombie loading glitch! "

Except I have enough ammo to kill one maybe two..... considering I have been attempting to use stealth and not waste ammo. I figure I have missed a fair amount somwehere.

This was after playing for a good while and I was fed up at this point. Need to try it again.

Great game, but shame it wasnt until I was a good 1/3 through the game I realised smashing the figurines released a key!
No idea whats the best weapon/ability to max up, I actual find it quite tense at times fighting the action, and only just manage to make it out alive with only a couple of bullets left. Which adds to the tension..Better than going in with all guns blazing I suppose. I really enjoy using the traps against the zombies!
