I came from Facebook and spent the past 20 mins reading through the thread.

Heartwrenching stuff - as a 20 year old that has had family stuff (admittedly nothing as bad as this), I'm so happy to see that it has gotten better. I hope your daughter finds the university she wants as well, for me uni has been a massive life changing experience (for the better, after my earlier school years were very up-down).

I'll be donating some money to you, I'm not exactly rolling in the stuff as a student but I can't imagine how awful this whole experience was for you, even if the outcome has been great for you and your kids. I hope you guys have the most amazing Christmas together. I'd love to offer any advice on university if you or your daughter would like it.

Leon, you really deserve this, honestly - when 5UB contacted me I hadn't opuntia what I could to say thanks! You went over and beyond as my SS a while back, and reading this thread from when it wasnoroginallymposted really just confirms what a great guy and father you are.

Hopefully with the money raised, it'll give your kids the Christmas they deserve :)

A lot of people with dirt in their eyes! Just an amazing man Leon, not sure if I could have handled things in the same way that you did. As a father to three young children, if anyone hurts them I want to kill them, so not too sure what I would do to someone who had done all that to my children, and me.

However, you managed it, and now enjoy the time with your children. Please have a great Christmas, and a wonderful new year!!

Just spent a good hour or so reading through (Mostly just jumping to Leons posts). Such a touching story. Keep Going mate seems you're being an amazing Dad. I must say when I actually got to 5UB's post it bought a tear to my eye. I'm sure you'll have a brilliant Christmas with your kids for sure! :p
 
Being a dad of 3 I know how much it takes to bring up 3 kids and that's with a mum that gives everything. You are doing an amazing job mate, my heart goes out to you. I wish you and your kids the best ever Christmas and the most happiest new year.

If ever there was someone that actually deserves the Man of Honour title, it's you mate.

I'm going to be honest, I'm a reasonably old git so I've heard this and similar stories before but very rarely with such a positive outcome.
The reason the outcome is so positive for your kids, is because of you!
Never give up mate and keep doing what you are doing. I don't have a lot but please have a drink on me this Christmas mate.

What an amazing outcome! I have been following your story ever since you posted it. You're an inspiration to all fathers Leon. Having just become a dad I already know just how far I'd go to help my boy out. I can't imagine what it must have been like for you when you were prevented from helping your children out. It must have been awful just having to stand watch, absolutely powerless whilst your ex destroyed her life and theirs. In today's society I still can't believe that social services and the authorities by default side with the mother even despite such obvious lack of care. However, you persevered, and now you've shown your children that there is a much better life for them and that is truly admirable! It must be so amazing seeing your children thrive and knowing that you gave them that opportunity :) You're definitely deserving of a title of Man Of Honour!

My dad is my hero. What he has done for me and my brother's and sister is beyond what any child could ask for. He never fails to brighten my day, over some tea and a chat when I have finished college! My friends think he's brilliant too. However, I so complain at him for never doing anything for himself, but always for someone else.

When I saw my dad reading the forums I could not believe what you are all doing for all of us, I am overwhelmed. It brought tears to my eyes that people actually see my dad as an inspiration and the amazing dad that he is, and wanted to help him and us kids. I can't thank any of you enough! I wanted to post this for all of you to see because I cannot believe the generosity and kindness from all of you. So. Thank you so much to each and every one of you. And I hope that you all have an amazing Christmas, just like you are all making ours.
