You and your siblings are very lucky to have a father like your dad, take care of him and make sure he gets lots of happiness from you and your siblings. He definitely deserves it.

As you're there with him, can you give him a hug from all of us please.

You're lucky to have him, and from everything we've heard, he sounds like he brought up some amazing children who he is lucky to have too.

At this rate there's gonna be enough in the pot for a holiday next year as well as a stonking Christmas. You all deserve it :)
 
If I'm ever in a similar situation to what you've been through Leon, I only wish I would be able to act in the same way as you have.

Does anyone personally know Leon other than through these very forums?

I've already trusted 5UB to get the donation address and I want to make a donation but I'm always the pessimist you see..

I don't think anyone knows him personally, but he has had to come through so much. Yet he still manages to take care of his 4 children. If you read the whole thread you will also see he suffers from muscular dystrophy a most unpleasant condition. What is wrong with his profession have you googled what it is!

The generosity of this forum when it comes to one of our own is incredible. Keep going guys lets hit 1k! :):):)

I have read the whole thread, twice probably because I remember it from back when it started. :o
and I didn't think I needed to google his profession, but my take on what social engineering is, does match that of Wiki.
Social engineering, in the context of information security, refers to psychological manipulation of people into performing actions or divulging confidential information. A type of confidence trick for the purpose of information gathering, fraud, or system access, it differs from a traditional "con" in that it is often one of many steps in a more complex fraud scheme.

I put that in occupation a long time ago; just seemed something to put in there at the time as I had just finished a course and was between jobs :(

Personally don't know leon other than he was my ss victim a few years back and his post's on here I doubt any one would bs about what he's gone through this past year

While ultimately wouldn't suprise me having been around the internet this long (i.e. see diamondmark) but I believe in what 5UB is doing and I don't expect he will have undertaken it lightly.
 
The Internet is a wonderful thing :D (I've been around the Internet that long too which is why it poked me in the eye ;) )

Looking forward to now from twenty years ago I'd have never imagined I'd be sat in a cafe talking to some random dudes who I didn't know, about another random dude I didn't know, that I am about to give a load of money to. :o

After Theo pointed me to this thread last night. And having just read all of it.

This is what makes OcUK such a fantastic place. This is why so many friendships are forged here, and what makes this a community, not just a forum. Yes we fall out with one another from time to time, and we don't all see eye to eye on everything (life would be boring if one did). However, we get together when it counts, stand in solidarity when it is needed, and care for those that need our help at their moments of need.

Hitman_Leon - you're an inspiration to many there, and a fantastic father. We don't get many people on here that strike us hard, and you will leave a legacy here and are a living legacy within our forums.

I for one, am proud to be part of this community - especially when I read threads like this and the see the behaviour of members adopt a much more Christian profile, than the normal suspicious, keyboard warrior and sceptical stance.

Bravo to all of you that have contributed and have posted support in here. You should be proud. Keep that goodness and take it to every aspect of your life. :)
