The FA CUP Fourth Round 27/28/29 January *** Spoilers ****

Or maybe they're individual idiots that don't give a ****. It's no different to Hillsborough and Munich chants; both clubs regularly speak out against it but they still happen.

So it's a total coincidence that Liverpool have had one, and now possibly two, racism allegations against their supporters in the wake of this?

Of course not, there's a huge race issue just gone on. It's not different from Chelsea supporters chanting "we know what you are" to Anton Ferdinand and then getting arrested for racist chants on their train home from Norwich the other week and then some idiot sending Ferdinand a bullet. Was that Chelsea Football Club's fault? Was Utd's stance on racism called into question when they had fans arrested for racial abuse last season?

It makes no difference what either club said or do, it will not stop some random idiot acting like an idiot because they don't care. As I said, both sets of fans are regularly warned about Hillsborough and Munich chants, but at every Liverpool-Utd game there's always some idiot that will sing them.

I think Ameobi is a better player when he's laying on the floor than he is when he's on his feet!

I'm not sure I agree with that. The fact that Liverpool fans are prepared to boo Evra shows a lack of respect for the issues at the heart of the case and that comes from the management downwards. Certain idiots have taken this attitude to the next level by using this ambivalent stance as an excuse to abuse black players.

Had Liverpool apologised unreservedly to Evra for any offence caused and condemned racism in the strongest possible terms then it would be totally clear to these muppets that their behaviour will not be tolerated. As it is, I fear their softly softly approach has backfired in the worst possible way.

Edit:
What I find most bizarre is the above apology would not have hung Suarez out to dry and would have probably satisfied Evra so I'm baffled why it was not forthcoming.

Loving the commentator on ESPN about Brighton Vs. Newcastle:

"This is one for the tactical connoisseur rather than all-out chances."

What he means is it's boring!

That still wont stop an idiot who wants to chant stupididly though will it weather we apologised or not, If a fan wants to stir trouble they will doesnt matter if the club asks them not to.

Ignoring the Suarez situation, UTD Chants arent always acceptable nor or ours but every game its asked not to speak of Hilsbororugh/Munich but some do, So us or UTD obivusly asking not to proves it doesnt work and same applies in any Racism situation no club wants it to occur it does because some people are just idiots.

Booing Evra has nothing to do with a lack of respect for 'the issue'. As I said before, there are countless reasons why Evra was going to be boo'd and none of them were because he's black.

And again as I've said before, why would they unreservedly apologise to Evra if they believe he's lied/exaggerated his story? I know I wouldn't.

Liverpool have condemned racism and all forms of discrimination however racism is in the spotlight because of what's happened and that's enough for some clown to make an idiot of himself.

If Utd issued an unreserved public apology for any Utd fans that sung about Hillsborough today would it stop the possibility of a Utd fan singing about Hillsborough at OT in a couple of weeks? And if Utd don't issue this apology, can I condemn Utd for not doing so, sighting that as the reason why some idiot will sing about Hillsborough in a couple of weeks time?

lol just watching highlights, that Chelsea penalty is awful :(

De Gea needs to bulk up big time, stop being such a vagina and get some games, he'll come good (he says...).

So am I to condemn Liverpool Fans for singing about Munich from the 70's until Hillsborough. Despite the tragedy, you got some head start on us BaZ

No. Read back through what I've been saying to One More Solo. Those that make racist remarks or sing about Hillsborough and Munich don't represent Liverpool or Utd, they're individual idiots that neither club can control the actions of.

One More Solo seems to be of the belief that these actions are considered and would be affected by what the club do or say. I think that's nonsense though.

I don't think any less of Utd or Utd fans on the whole for a random idiot singing about Hillsborough. I think the guy that's singing about Hillsborough is an idiot and that's all.

But the sad fact is BaZ they do. Weirdly I kinda agree with you though and don't. Because of where I live and work there are a good mix of Liverpool and United Fans. To the core home and away boys without question. Your trying to separate fans who sing vile songs from idiotic football Hooligans who have no affiliation with a club unless it's for having a beer and a scrap.

I know honest decent working lads from both sides of the fence but as soon as game day comes they would be happy to call me a Filthy Munich ******* to my face. I have worked with lads (and when I say lads, I mean grown men who are going on mid 30's early 40's) who follow United because they love the club but only got Anfield to sing about Hillsborough and Heysel.

There is something about this fixture that brings out the most horrible in people.

A for today's game, you got your win. For me it's a bit like the 3rd round all over. United got the moral victory. Massively disappointed with Liverpool's tactics at Home despite Daglish's sabre rattling about tradition, players stepping upto the plate, every time they pull on a shirt etc etc etc. Fact is your in the next round

I've never been to a Liverpool - Utd game but I've been to a few Liverpool - Everton games and sat near to the away end. Pre-match, half-time and post-match you've got friends (and probably family) shouting over to each other, talking about where they're going to meet after the game for a drink but the second the ball is in play, they're screaming abuse at each other. It's a surreal sight.

But what you've said is kind of what I'm trying to say. There's no logic or reasoning behind a lot of what goes on. Both Liverpool and Utd have appealed to supporters to stop the songs about Hillsborough and Munich but they still happen. It's started by some idiot that doesn't give a **** and then you get the mob mentality that drives others to join in.

I think the fact that we put in an energy sapping performance less than 3 days ago and what players we had available to us dictated the way we were played more than anything.

We looked a tired side in the first half, there was no energy even in the defensive side of our game let alone when we tried to attack. I think bringing on Adam and Kuyt around the hour mark made a big difference and we started to take the game to you more though.

And you can keep your moral victories, I'll take the real thing ;)

And then you see a Newcastle fan in a Jestors outfit in the crowd. You know that some fans are worse off then others.
